Android Developer

At Platzi, we’re building the best mobile learning experience in Spanish. We’re looking for an Android Developer ready to take our app to the next level using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and the latest best practices in architecture, performance, and user experience.

This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about mobile development, excited to work in a collaborative environment, and loves experimenting, measuring, and continuously improving. What you'll do

• Develop new features for our Android app using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Design and implement reusable components and modular libraries.
• Ensure high-quality code through testing, documentation, and clean practices.
• Propose improvements to mobile architecture and developer tooling.
• Take part in technical design, code reviews, and product discussions.
• Collaborate closely with Backend, Design, and Product teams in an agile environment.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipeline.
• Promote secure, scalable, and high-performance development practices.

Who you are

• 3+ years of experience as an Android Developer or in a similar role.
• Strong command of Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with modern architectures (MVVM).
• Familiarity with Jetpack Libraries and Android components.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Bitrise, etc.).
• Solid testing, documentation, and code quality practices.
• Interest in mobile app optimization and performance.
• English level B2 or above: you can comfortably handle technical conversations.

Nice to have

• Experience designing libraries or modular projects.
• Contributions to open-source Android projects.
• Curiosity for new tools, frameworks, or creative ways to build better apps.
