About Last Mile Health
Last Mile Health saves lives in the world's most remote communities. Our vision is a health worker within reach of everyone, everywhere. We partner with governments to recruit, train, equip, and integrate professional community health workers into national health systems, equipping them to deliver quality primary care in rural and remote communities. Founded in Liberia in 2007, we now operate programs in Ethiopia, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Malawi. Our global offices are located in Accra, Ghana and in the United States. We are looking for mission-driven leaders to join us as we work to ensure no patient is out of reach.
About the Ethiopia Team
The Ethiopia team works in partnership with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health to strengthen the country’s flagship Health Extension Program, a globally recognized model for delivering primary healthcare through more than 40,000 Health Extension Workers. Led by Abraham Zerihun, the team works to upskill the Health Extension Workers through blended learning that combines digital and in-person training. It also advances digital innovation through HEP Assist, an AI-powered clinical decision-support tool that helps Health Extension Workers provide evidence-based care at the point of service. The team's portfolio spans maternal, newborn, child health, nutrition, and non-communicable diseases, including hypertension, diabetes, eye care, and stroke prevention and management, while strengthening health systems through sustainable community health financing, resource mapping, and strategic planning to support long-term government leadership and program sustainability.
