Overview of Watson Institute

Watson Institute powers transformative Fellowships in partnership with leading corporations and foundations to support highly promising entrepreneurs and leaders from underserved backgrounds. The Fellowships provide proven entrepreneurship and leadership skills training, committed mentorship, community development stipends, long-term Alumni support, and access to a global community of peers, mentors, and opportunities.

In partnership with Google, JPMorganChase Foundation, Walmart.org, Wells Fargo, Ford Philanthropy, SAP, Truist Foundation, BMO, Comcast, Western Union, and several private foundations, Watson Institute’s programs will reach over 2,400 rising leaders this year.

Alumni of Watson Institute’s Fellowships have raised over $190 million, created over 2,300 paid jobs, and impacted over 11 million people around the world through initiatives they have helped lead. 93% of Watson Institute alums are employed, continuing their education, or building a venture. 85% of Watson Institute Alumni use a skill they learned while in a Watson Institute-powered program up to 12 years later. Watson Institute’s Alumni have been selected to Y Combinator, the Echoing Green Fellowship, and 11 have been named to Forbes’ 30 under 30 lists. Creative Content & Production Lead - Mission Statement

The Creative Content & Production Lead will support the Events Team in producing high-quality, presentation-ready content that brings Watson Institute’s programs to life across major virtual events. This role blends creative storytelling with strong execution, supporting the scheduling, recording, and editing of 100+ content segments while managing timelines and communication. 

Content Production & Editing (60%)

Create and refine high-quality, presentation-ready content that captures the impact of Watson Institute’s programs across key events.

  • Edit and produce video content, including participant recordings and venture pitch segments.
  • Transform raw recordings into polished, cohesive storytelling assets for use across presentations, partner communications, newsletters, and social media.
  • Integrate presentation materials (e.g., slides) into final video outputs to create seamless, event-ready content. 
  • Design supporting visual assets, including presentation slides, banners, and social media graphics.
  • Ensure all content aligns with Watson Institute and partner brand guidelines and storytelling standards.

Content Coordination & Execution (20%)

Manage the coordination and execution of high-volume content production, ensuring all recordings, assets, and deliverables are organized, on track, and completed to a high standard.

  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for a high volume of recordings (100+ segments across multiple events), ensuring speakers and assets are prepared and on track.
  • Track content deliverables, deadlines, and participant submissions to ensure timely execution.
  • Organize and manage digital assets from initial capture through final delivery.
  • Maintain a high level of detail and organization while managing multiple timelines and priorities simultaneously.

Content Lifecycle & Distribution (10%)

Support the full lifecycle of content from creation through final delivery, ensuring assets are polished, organized, and effectively shared across platforms and key events.

  • Manage content from initial capture through editing, final delivery, and distribution.
  • Develop highlight content and media assets that showcase the program's and community's impact.
  • Support the creation of final, presentation-ready materials for key event promotions.
  • Contribute to digital communications, including promotional materials.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Support (10%)

Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure content and program needs are aligned and executed smoothly across events and initiatives.

  • Partner closely with the Events Team to support evolving program needs and priorities.
  • Proactively gather and incorporate content from Fellow-led events to showcase community reach and engagement.
  • Weekly Team Meeting (1 hour): Attend the Events Team meeting to share updates, coordinate across geographies, and align on strategy.
  • Weekly 1-on-1’s (30-60 minutes): Review tasks, troubleshoot challenges, and receive guidance on production editing approach.
  • Weekly Program Team Meetings (1 hour): Attend to see the status of all programs and collaborate across the broader team. 
  • Total internal meeting commitment: Approximately 3-5 hours per week.

Performance Benchmarks

The Creative Content & Production Lead’s performance will be evaluated weekly and monthly, with specific benchmarks outlined in the contract. 

Candidate Profile

Top candidates will bring a strong balance of creative execution, organization, and adaptability, and should demonstrate:

Core Strengths:

  • Strong video editing and content production skills, with the ability to create polished, high-quality outputs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a sharp eye for visual quality, formatting, and presentation.
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple workflows, including scheduling recordings, tracking assets, and coordinating deliverables.
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-volume environments, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to take ownership of tasks and follow through to completion.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with tools such as Descript, Canva, or similar video editing and design platforms.
  • Familiarity with workflow management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Airtable, etc.) for task tracking and coordination.
  • Experience supporting or creating content for presentations or venture pitches, with the ability to help shape clear, compelling, and visually polished outputs for showcase-style events.
  • Familiarity with Crowdcast or other virtual event platforms.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, remote, or project-based environments.

The Vitals

  • The time commitment is an estimated 25 hours per week with flexibility around the schedule.
  • Competitive contractor compensation: $25,000.00. 
  • The Creative Content & Production Lead is a contractor role and reports to the Associate Director of Events.  
  • Location: This role is fully remote within the U.S., with a preference for candidates based in Eastern or Mountain Time. 
  • The start date for this position is August 24th, 2026.
