About WaterAid

WaterAid Liberia has over the past two years been implementing its 2023-2028 Country Programme Strategy (CPS) which sets a 5-year building block towards delivering a more influencing-led programme over the strategy period. This new CPS does not only build on progress from previous CPS but also outlines key shifts in strategic focus required for a more catalysed change to achieve maximum impact from our work in Liberia. 

About the Team

The WaterAid Liberia team will support together the Policy & Advocacy Team to streamline the CP’s advocacy work and ensure all sub-plans on advocacy and campaigns are aligned and implemented according to the Country Programme Strategy (CPS).

About the Role

The Driver will provide the WaterAid Liberia Todee Office with safe movement of WaterAid Staff, Partners and visiting Consultants at all times. The person will give considerable administrative support to the office.  The post holder should be able to carry out basic vehicle fault diagnosis and keep the vehicle always clean. 

You’ll also: 

  • Take WaterAid Staff, Partners, and visiting Consultants safely and lawfully. This includes the use of seat belts for all passengers.
  • Be familiar with local and state regulatory policies relating to safe driving on all Liberian roads. 
  • Ensure that all rules and regulations of WaterAid Liberia area are complied with by all passengers in the vehicles. 
  • Ensure compliance with WaterAid Liberia’s Health & Safety and Transport Policies.
  • Knowledge of all road rules with strict adherence to them. 
  • Ability to carry out minor repairs and general maintenance of the vehicle 
  • Ability to write monthly reports on vehicles and at expected time. 
  • Knowledge and adherence to fire breakout procedures and other related emergencies. 
  • Knowledge and administration of First Aid as required/necessary to self and other passengers in case of unexpected. 

To be successful, you’ll need: 

  • Minimum of five years Driving experience.
  • High school diploma.  
  • Possesses a Valid Driver’s license.
  • Relevant driving experience with demonstrated ability to drive safely and effectively.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of road codes and rules.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and servicing.
  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills. 
  • Good knowledge of major road networks in Liberia.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. 
  • A clear sense of maturity/ ability to work under pressure. 
  • A good sense of figure for basic accounting and banking transactions.    
  • Commitment to WaterAid Liberia’s culture and values. 
  • Creative and takes initiative. 
  • Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work within a multi-cultural work environment.
