The Role

This role will provide critical background and operational support to the Manager/Principal Manager in driving program expansion into new states. It will be a combination of strategy support, documentation, and project management to ensure smooth planning and execution. The individual will coordinate across teams, maintain high-quality documentation, and track progress against timelines, enabling senior leadership to focus on stakeholder engagement and decision-making.

Responsibilities

1. Strategy and Planning Support

  • Assist in developing state expansion strategies, work plans, and timelines.
  • Conduct secondary research and prepare briefs to support decision-making.
  • Track developments in new states and flag risks/opportunities.

2. Documentation and Knowledge Management

  • Draft, format, and maintain high-quality documents (concept notes, proposals, reports, presentations).
  • Ensure consistency and clarity across all documentation prepared for government, donors, and internal leadership.
  • Maintain a repository of expansion-related resources, templates, and lessons learned.

3. Project Management and Coordination

  • Support the Manager/Principal Manager in monitoring state expansion activities and deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain trackers for tasks, timelines, and milestones.
  • Coordinate with central and state teams to ensure alignment and timely inputs.

4. Team and Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as a liaison with program, operations, MLE, and communications teams for inputs into expansion plans.
  • Facilitate information flow and ensure larger teams are updated on progress and expectations.

5. Stakeholder Support

  • Assist in preparing meeting notes, briefs, and follow-up trackers for government and partner interactions.
  • Support senior team members with background material and data for high-level meetings.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 2–5 years of experience in project management, program support, or strategy roles, ideally in development or WASH/government programs
  • Strong skills in MS Office/Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and project management tools
  • Excellent writing, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
