About Build or Break

Daniel Lubetzky is the founder of KIND Snacks, a Shark on Shark Tank, and the founder of the Builders Movement and Lubetzky Family Foundation. He is the host of Build or Break, a new weekly video podcast that premiered September 3 on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and all major audio platforms.

Build or Break features candid conversations with accomplished entrepreneurs, creators, athletes, entertainers, politicians and business leaders - not just about their success, but also about the defining failures, pivotal setbacks, and breakthrough moments that shaped them. Guests include Kevin O'Leary, Chris Paul, Kendra Scott, Matthew McConaughey, Chip and Joanna Gaines, Mark Cuban, Jason Alexander, Jamie Siminoff, Barbara Corcoran, and Steven Bartlett.

Build or Break exists to inspire audiences to believe in their own power to create, innovate, and solve problems, reinforcing Daniel’s and the Lubetzky Family Foundation’s mission to replace a culture of “Us vs. Them” with solving problems together.

We're looking for a seasoned Executive Producer to take Build or Break from a promising new show to a category-defining, chart-topping property, building the team, the systems, and the partnerships that make that possible.

The Role

The Executive Producer will own the end-to-end success of Build or Break, overseeing: creative execution, production operations, team leadership, platform relationships, and the pathway to monetization. This person will work as a true partner to Daniel, protecting and advancing his voice and vision for the show, while bringing the independent judgment, taste, and operational discipline to run the business of the podcast at a high level.

This is a senior, high-trust role for someone who has taken a podcast from good to great, built the infrastructure behind a chart-topping show, and knows exactly what it takes to compete for top-tier guests, premium distribution, and audience growth. This is a role for someone who will take initiative and ownership, leaving no stone unturned to help fuel Build or Break’s next phase of growth.

This is a rare opportunity to build a media property from an early, high-momentum stage into a top-tier show, with direct access to a founder with a proven track record of scaling brands, a compelling mission behind the work, and real ownership over the strategy, team, and outcomes. You won't be executing someone else's playbook; you'll be writing it

What You'll Do

Creative & Editorial Leadership

  • Serve as the creative and strategic partner to Daniel on every episode - from guest selection through final cut, ensuring the show consistently reflects his voice, values, and mission
  • Set and maintain a high creative bar across long-form episodes and short-form/social content
  • Develop and evolve the show's format, segments, and storytelling approach over time

Production & Operations

  • Oversee end-to-end production, leading the production team through pre-production, booking, recording (remote and in-person), post-production, and distribution
  • Own the show's budget - production costs, vendor and freelancer spend, travel, and event-related expenses with full P&L accountability
  • Establish scalable systems and workflows as the show and team grow

Team Building & Management

  • Build out and lead a lean, high-performing team (currently consisting of a full-time VP of Content, a two-person in-house social media team, and a network of freelance editors), including hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development
  • Set clear goals and accountability structures; manage performance with rigor and care
  • Foster a culture that mirrors the show's own values (curiosity, creativity, courage, and compassion) internally

Platform Partnerships & Monetization

  • Think outside the box to uncover creative pathways to expand the brand’s reach
  • Maximize relationships with distribution and platform partners (Spotify, Apple, YouTube, iHeart, etc.) to maximize placement, promotion, and discoverability
  • Build and execute a monetization strategy across sponsorships, brand partnerships, and other revenue streams
  • Track and report on key business metrics (revenue, CPMs, partner deliverables) to Daniel and relevant stakeholders
  • Balance commercial growth with fidelity to the show's mission to model curiosity, courage, creativity and compassion as tools to build together and bridge divides
  • Represent the show in partner and industry conversations

Audience Growth & Engagement

  • Manage a marketing and communications team to drive audience growth across downloads, video views, and social channels
  • Use audience and performance data to continuously refine format, guest mix, and content strategy

  • 4+ years in podcast/audio or video production, and a cumulative 8+ years in media, podcasts, and/or business development
  • A proven track record of scaling a podcast to chart-topping status - ideally in entrepreneurship, business, leadership, or lifestyle categories - with concrete results you can point to (chart rankings, download/audience growth, revenue growth)
  • Strong business acumen: budget ownership, partner negotiations, and monetization strategy, not just creative production
  • Demonstrated success building and leading teams: hiring, developing, and managing producers, editors, and content staff
  • Sharp editorial judgment and storytelling instincts, with the ability to identify what makes a conversation or moment resonate
  • Established relationships with platforms (Spotify, Apple, YouTube, etc.) and talent representation (CAA, WME, UTA, or similar)
  • Genuine alignment with the show's mission and values
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX; comfortable with regular travel for recordings and events
  • A collaborative operator who can hold a strong point of view while working in true partnership with a founder/host
  • This is a full-time opportunity with competitive annual salary based on qualifications and experience
  • 25 days of Paid Time Off, 5 sick days and 20 personal days
  • Excellent health, dental, and vision insurance with options to fit you and your families needs
  • Life and AD&D Insurance
  • Short-term and Long-term Disability
  • Retirement plan with employer matching program
  • Charitable gift-matching program
  • Opportunities and resources for professional development and growth
  • A dynamic, ambitious, fun and kind work environment.
  • The opportunity and responsibility to work on initiatives that make an impact
