About Plan A
Plan A is on a mission to decarbonize the global economy. Using science and technology, our ESG and carbon management platform empowers industry leaders like BMW, Flix, and Mollie to achieve net-zero. As we scale our footprint across Europe and into Asian markets, we are seeking a strategic Head of Finance to serve as a key architect of our global financial expansion.
The Role
We are looking for a seasoned financial leader who thrives at the intersection of high-growth tech and global operations. You will manage a significant P&L, lead international teams, and spearhead our M&A activities. This role is for a visionary who can bridge the financial complexities of European and Asian markets while ensuring our internal engines are optimized for hyper-growth.
Your Responsibilities
- Global Compliance, Reporting & Treasury: Accurate and timely financial reporting with KPI tracking under local accounting standards and IFRS. Manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships while continuously strengthening a robust internal control framework to ensure effective tax, regulatory, and treasury compliance across diverse international legal environments.
- Advanced FP&A: Transform data into actionable insights. Lead complex forecasting, scenario planning, and unit economic analysis to guide executive decision-making.
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Business partnering and supporting the CEO and business heads to achieve the long term financial strategy, supporting international expansion and multi-market scaling.
- Process Institutionalization: Professionalize the finance stack by implementing an enterprise-grade ERP system and internal controls fit for a global, pre-IPO environment.
- Team Excellence: Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing remote teams, fostering a culture of precision and strategic partnership.
- M&A and Capital Allocation: Lead the financial workstreams for M&A activities, from due diligence and valuation to post-merger integration.
- International Operations: Manage and scaling financial operations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring seamless travel and collaboration between remote teams in Europe.
- Education: Qualified accountant.
- Experienced Leader: 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3+ years in a senior leadership role (Head of Finance, VP Finance, or Finance Director) within a high-growth or multinational environment.
- International Pedigree: Proven track record of managing finances across European markets. Experience navigating the regulatory and cultural nuances is essential.
- Technical Mastery: Deep fluency in IFRS and HGB. You have managed large-scale P&Ls and possess a sophisticated understanding of SaaS metrics and global tax structures.
- Global Mindset: Willingness to travel frequently in Europe.
- Tech-Forward: Expert-level command of modern ERPs (e.g., Netsuite, SAP) and advanced financial modeling.
- Global Impact: Shape the financial backbone of a company solving the world's most pressing challenge: the climate crisis.
- Strategic Autonomy: High level of ownership over the global finance function and a seat at the table for major strategic pivots.
- Work-Life Flexibility: Hybrid work model with 28 days of vacation and a 30-day "Work from Anywhere" policy.
- Growth Environment: A collaborative, mission-driven culture that values intellectual honesty and rapid professional evolution.
- Competitive Package: Senior-level compensation reflecting the complexity and international scope of the role.
