HR International Payroll and Benefits Assistant
Akron, PA (Hybrid preferred) / Remote from US states where MCC is registered

Salary: $23.07–$25.63/hour, based on experience
Job Synopsis
This role keeps MCC's U.S. payroll, benefits, and onboarding running smoothly for international staff. It covers setting up records and benefits for new international hires, administering benefits through the employee life cycle, and running international payroll across MCC's many locations. The position supports timely documentation, strong data integrity, and smooth operations across HR.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboarding for International Program: 30%

- Shared Program Consultancy Support: 10%
Onboarding
- Onboard International Program new hires, including Global Service Learning (GSL) participants
- Maintain assignment preparation documents with IP, MCCC HR, and MCC U.S. Finance
- Update the IP HRIS self-serve portal
- Create new national staff records
Compensation & Benefits
- Support medical expense reimbursements, education loan assistance, and Education of Children benefits
- Process health care, dental, and vision claims for national staff
- Maintain health plan enrollment data, including temporary coverage
- Process monthly benefits premiums and billing for international group plans
- Process weekly Everence reports, checks, and financial coding
Payroll
- Serve as primary International Program Payroll Administrator in the U.S.
- Process payroll accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable laws
- Coordinate with HR and Finance for smooth processing
- Create and update payroll and benefits records for International Program staff
Shared Program Consultant Support
- Review and approve consultants hired by MCC U.S. Shared Program
- Coordinate regularly with Program administrative staff
- Maintain up-to-date consultancy instructions and forms
- Submit medical and consultancy payment requests to Financial Services
Qualifications
Essential:
- High school diploma
- 1–3 years of payroll and benefits experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Able to work independently and on teams
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook
- Able to hold sensitive information in strict confidence
- Comfortable navigating and supporting a database
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.; subject to background check
Preferred:
- Multi-state or multi-national payroll experience
- Experience with HR databases (Salesforce, Sage, ADP, or similar)
- Experience at a global nonprofit
