Location: Global, Remote (with flexibility across time zones; must have some overlap with U.S. and European time zones)
At Devex, we connect and inform the global development community through agenda-setting journalism and partnerships-driven storytelling. We’re seeking a creative and detail-oriented Multimedia Editor to join our Partnerships Editorial team on a 3 to 4-month contract to cover a sabbatical.
In this role, you’ll produce and edit engaging multimedia content — from explainer videos, takeaway videos from events, and short documentaries to podcasts — in collaboration with leading NGOs, foundations, and global development organizations as part of our sponsored editorial work.
You’ll work at the intersection of editorial strategy and hands-on production, shaping impactful stories across platforms, with a focus on issues like global health, climate change, and gender equity. You’ll also manage a small network of freelance editors and video producers, ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery across multiple projects.
What you’ll do
- Manage the production of multimedia projects (videos, podcasts, and social content) from concept, storyboard creation, to publication, often as part of sponsored editorial campaigns.
- Coordinate remotely with freelance video teams for on-the-ground shoots as needed.
- Oversee pre- and post-production of video projects, including coverage from major events such as the World Bank meetings and COP 30.
- Collaborate with reporters, partners, and production partners to craft clear, compelling narratives aligned with audience and partner goals.
- Edit or supervise video edits using Adobe Premiere Pro, and ensure Devex brand continuity.
- Write short articles to accompany videos and podcasts as needed.
- Write and offer editorial input on scripts, visual treatments, and creative direction.
- Coordinate across time zones with freelance editors, producers, videographers, and with the Devex project, editorial and marketing teams.
- Ensure content meets both editorial and sponsorship objectives, maintaining quality, accuracy, and brand alignment.
- Liaise with NGO and development sector partners in a professional and collaborative manner.
- Track and communicate progress internally, attending regular team and client-facing check-ins.
Skills and Qualifications

- Comfortable working with partner-driven or sponsored content, ideally in the nonprofit or development space.

- Familiarity working with Adobe Creative suite software (Premiere Pro, Illustrator; After Effects is a plus).
- Familiarity with production tools such as Riverside and Shorthand.
- Familiarity with topics such as global health, food security, climate, and humanitarian response.
- Experience collaborating across departments (editorial, partnerships, marketing) and experience with project management tools such as Slack and Monday.com.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines.
