ClimateWorks Foundation: Manager of Operations Analysis, Philanthropic Partnerships

The Manager of Operations Analysis, Philanthropic Partnerships will report to the Senior Associate Director of Operations, Philanthropic Partnerships. This role is responsible for collecting information, evaluating, prioritizing, tracking, and facilitating project and system updates, as well as enhancing collaborative efforts and procedures for the Philanthropic Partnerships team, in collaboration with colleagues across the organization. 

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities   

Needs Analysis/Assessment

  • Facilitate deep ongoing collaboration between the sub teams of Philanthropic Partnerships (Operations, Philanthropy, and Donor Comms), the Information Systems team, the Finance and Administration team, the Marketing and Communications team, and others to conduct needs assessments for current and forecasted projects
  • Incorporate key and dynamic information from all teams in order to identify shared objectives, priorities, and challenges, as well as the operational impacts of new processes and features, both as they pertain to our shared Salesforce database and also to general cross-team procedures
  • Continually identify opportunities for process and communication improvement, better user experience, adoption, and automation
  • Collaborate with Senior Associate Director to design overall strategy and project priorities, and oversee adoption, training, and change management
  • Partner with Manager, Operations and Analytics to document technical process workflows and maintain documentation and the appropriate filing structures related to projects and updates

Project Management 

  • Systematically collect, maintain, and prioritize requests across the Philanthropic Partnerships team, as well as other teams we work closely with, and work across teams to manage projects and needed updates
  • Work with stakeholders to map processes and to document scope, goals, deliverables, resource requirements, and timings for key projects
  • Effectively manage project scope, ensuring changes in scope are appropriately evaluated for impact and documented in project plans and schedules
  • Ensure consistent flow of information to project stakeholders to support coordination across teams
  • Track and report on project milestones, as agreed upon by project sponsors
  • With support from project sponsors and supervisor, proactively identify risks, challenges, or roadblocks and capture strategies for addressing them

Special Projects 

  • Lead on the coordination of other collaborative, cross team efforts as needed
  • Manage the funder correspondence and annual contribution process for the Funder Collaborations team
  • Partner with Senior Associate Director on strategic plan and other org-wide operations projects and coordination
  • Other tasks as assigned, including helping to fill in for other Operations staff as needed

Required Qualifications 

  • Strong technology-related project management skills based on 5-7 years’ experience in a relevant role 
  • At least 3 years of experience with Salesforce, or another similar fundraising database, in a relevant role
  • At least 2 years of experience with fundraising operations
  • Experience working on complex projects, preferably with a focus on data management, systems analysis, and effective collaboration
  • Ability to navigate priorities across teams and connect related workstreams
  • Adept at conducting needs-analysis and evaluating business objectives and impact for effective and holistic prioritization of work
  • Experience with facilitating meetings, ensuring that clear decisions and action items are communicated, agreed upon, executed upon, and documented
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data structures
  • Experience and comfort working in a deadline-driven professional environment
  • Excellent relationship management and collaboration skills
  • Adept at leading through change with the goal of improving organizational processes
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision, including working under pressure and managing shifting priorities

Compensation 

ClimateWorks offers an excellent benefits package and a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience (geographic differential applied based on location).

Salary Range (Bay Area / NYC): $110,000 - $115,000 annually

Salary Range (Other US): $105,000 - $110,000 annually

Location 

ClimateWorks Foundation is based in the San Francisco Financial District. This position is classified as US Flexible. Exceptional candidates can work from the SF office or from other locations, geographic differential applied to compensation based on local cost of labor.
