The Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations, you will lead field operations for the India Safe Water Program in Andhra Pradesh, and work closely with Operations teams based at the Delhi National Office. The role is responsible for driving effective on-ground execution across program sites, managing a team of Sr. State Program Coordinators (Sr. SPCs), and ensuring strong coordination across field teams, partners, and program workstreams.
Field Operations Management and Oversight (40%)
- End-to-End Operations & Delivery: Lead execution across all program sites handling minimum 2 small workstreams (support teams) in Andhra Pradesh, with clear visibility on performance and timely interventions where required.
- Team Leadership & Accountability: Manage Sr. SPCs, driving ownership, structured reviews, and strong performance through hands-on support and guidance.
- Planning, Resources & Risk Management: Oversee resource allocation, operational planning, and proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure smooth delivery.
- Field Quality & Reporting: Conduct field visits, ensure data accuracy, and maintain timely, decision-ready reporting across weekly to annual cycles.
External Stakeholder and Vendor Management (30%)
- Vendor Oversight & Accountability: Lead validation of vendor invoices and performance against agreed deliverables, timelines, and quality standards; ensure compliance with the support of respective Sr. SPCs and escalate critical issues when required.
- Performance Management & Corrective Actions: Conduct structured assessments, drive RCA-based case studies, and ensure implementation of corrective action plans through field teams.
- Stakeholder Coordination & Representation: Manage relationships with partners, and communities, and represent from the operational area through Sr. SPCs.
Team Building and Communications to Program Leadership (20%)
- Lead and develop team members through consistent coaching, performance management, career development planning, and support for recruitment and HR-related matters.
- Ensure Program leadership is fully informed by providing regular reports on progress, emerging challenges, future forecasts, and strategic recommendations related to community engagement and capacity building.
Integrated Workstream Management – LMT & TA (10%)
- Workstream Coordination: Act as the key operational link between field execution and program teams (learning/training and technical support), ensuring aligned plans and smooth dependency management.
- Execution & Feasibility: Collaborate with teams to ensure logistics, training schedules, and technical inputs are practical, locally relevant, and effectively implemented on the ground.
- Alignment & Oversight: Coordinate with managers across teams to align state execution with national frameworks, SOPs, cross-state learnings, and monitor supply chain outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in operations or program management, including field operations and large-scale program delivery
- Experience managing field teams and driving delivery against targets and timelines
- Strong operational planning skills, including resource allocation, workforce management, and risk mitigation
- Ability to identify issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement improvements
- Experience managing vendors/contractors, including performance tracking and invoice validation
- Experience coordinating across multiple sites, stakeholders, and geographies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Telugu
- Proficiency in MS Office/Google Suite, with experience using data/MIS dashboards for reporting
- Willingness to travel 30–40% within Andhra Pradesh
Desirable
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience in WASH, public health, or large-scale social sector programs
- Familiarity with operations in Andhra Pradesh and government systems
- Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel)

Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with the individual's credentials, experience, and previous pay scale.
