Job Description

The Medior Data Analyst plays a key role in delivering high-quality data analysis and geospatial insights for Meridia Verify® projects. You will work closely with the Advisory team, Product, and Engineering to design and automate data workflows, validate datasets, and generate actionable outputs for clients.

Your work will focus on transforming raw geospatial and field data into structured, accurate and reproducible datasets, ensuring consistency and reliability across client projects. You will also contribute to  clear documentation, tutorials, and internal guides that support project delivery and knowledge sharing within the Advisory team.

This is a hands-on, technical role where your analytical skills, domain expertise, and ability to interpret complex geospatial data directly impact the success of Meridia’s consulting engagements and client outcomes.

You will report to the Senior Data Analyst and collaborate with teams in Indonesia, the Netherlands, and Ivory Coast. Working hours flexibility is required to ensure overlap with the European team.

Responsibilities

The Medior Data Analyst has the following areas of work and responsibilities:

Geospatial Data Analysis

  • Conduct and automate geospatial data processing and analysis using tools such as Python, QGIS, and Google Earth Engine (GEE).
  • Validate, clean, and visualise datasets to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and consistency across projects.
  • Transform raw field and satellite data into actionable outputs for client reports and project deliverables.
  • Support interpretation of client requirements and deliver high-quality, client-facing results.
  • Contribute to remote sensing services of the Advisory team

Internal Consulting Team Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Support the execution of geospatial analysis procedures by performing in depth-analysis at farm-plot level and providing insights that support environmental risks assessments. 
  • Contribute to data catalogues, manuals, dictionaries, glossaries, and other technical references to support knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure scripts, models, and workflows are fully documented and reproducible for use across (Consulting) projects and teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Customer Success & Support  and Engineering teams to improve workflows, tooling, and data pipelines used in consulting projects.
  • Provide insight and feedback on process improvements that enhance project efficiency and client outcomes.

Growth & Continuous Learning

  • Build growing expertise in geospatial data processing and analytical best practices for consulting engagements.
  • Seek guidance from senior analysts on technical workflows and project execution while developing independent judgement.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for internal data processes, methodologies and client-facing outputs.

Learning & Development

The ideal candidate should be eager and willing to learn and grow in the role. You will be engaged in on-the-job training and development to learn about the land rights sector and our data systems and workflows. You will be mentored by your Senior Data Analyst, our Data Engineering team in Indonesia and senior colleagues in the Netherlands.

The ideal candidate has/is:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a relevant role
  • Experience working with geospatial data, remote sensing and GIS
  • Rigorous problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently collect and organise data from multiple sources
  • Understanding of data management and data entry processes
  • Experience with python, QGIS and Google Earth Engine.
  • Independently driven, proactive, accountable and a reliable team player
  • Experience in, or interest to quickly build experience in, contact with customers both online and in person. 
  • Full working proficiency in English
