Policy Advisor, Industrial Transition (Global), Clean Economy, London (Internal Vacancy)
This post is based in E3G’s London headquarters but will have a global focus, aiming to deliver ambitious international commitments on the decarbonisation of heavy industry and manufacturing. The successful candidate will work on an exciting variety of projects, from policy advocacy at a national level to diplomatic activities at an international and multi-lateral level.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and advocate for policies that accelerate the decarbonisation of energy intensive industries; engaging with key policymakers, politicians, and changemakers.
- Develop E3G’s position as a thought leader on climate and industrial policy, with some external speaking at events and roundtables required.
- Engage with and help to convene coalitions of NGOs, businesses, and investors, and manage relationships with these stakeholders.
- Produce and project-manage internal and external communications, reports, briefings, research and analysis.
- Provide feedback to other teams working in areas such as energy transition and sustainable finance.
- Frequent travel to London and occasional international travel will be required.
Experience and Skills
Essential Experience:
- A high-quality degree or professional qualification in a relevant area (you do not need a master's degree).
- A strong background in politics and policy with at least three years of relevant experience (climate, industrial, and energy policy experience is desirable
but not essential).
- The right to work in the UK. E3G does not provide relocation or visa support and requires candidates to demonstrate
their right to live and work in the UK.
- An ability to communicate clear, accessible research and to present ideas clearly and credibly with colleagues and key external stakeholders.
- Adherence to E3G’s organisational values, and a commitment to being a supportive, collaborative colleague, able to operate within diverse teams and with a high degree of cultural sensitivity.
Desirable Experience:
- Strong research skills with intellectual curiosity, and creativity.
- Good time management, focus, and organisational skills, with an ability to deliver multiple simultaneous outputs against specific results and desired outcomes.
- Confidence engaging with external stakeholders including senior representatives from government, politics, business, and civil society.
- Previous experience in diplomatic initiatives is not required.
