About the role

The role seeks a dynamic, self-motivated professional to support WaterAid in delivering high-quality, standards-compliant water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) interventions across multiple projects. The incumbent will implement project activities, manage partnerships and donor coordination, and contribute to training, advocacy initiatives, and the deployment of context-specific climate-resilient technologies to ensure sustainable impact. Responsibilities include consistent replication of project activities, cross-team collaboration, and support across the project cycle (assessment, design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation). The position will advance inclusive and gender-equitable WASH services for marginalized communities, influence local stakeholders and government bodies, and strengthen digital engagement and communication efforts while building capacity through on-the-job learning.

In this role, you will:

Technical Support to Partners

• Provide technical guidance to partner NGOs to design and implement demand-driven, climate-resilient WASH interventions aligned with organizational standards and policies.

• Develop and strengthen partner capacity through operational guidelines, SOPs, training modules, and quality monitoring to ensure sustainable service delivery.

Management and Administrative Support

• Oversee and support project implementation to ensure timely delivery, quality outputs, and compliance with health, safety, safeguarding, and operational policies.
• Contribute to programme planning, budgeting, progress reviews, and problem-solving to address field-level challenges effectively.

Programme MEL Support

• Manage real-time monitoring and reporting systems (e.g., mWater, WAPS) ensuring data accuracy and timely progress tracking in coordination with the MERL team.
• Support research, analysis, and reporting initiatives in collaboration with technical and research teams.

Documentation and Reporting

• Document key learnings, best practices, and pilot results to inform programme improvement and stakeholder engagement.
• Support preparation of reports, presentations, and performance assessments in line with organizational requirements.

Cross-Cutting Responsibilities

• Integrate gender-sensitive and inclusive approaches into WASH programming in collaboration with relevant teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain effective coordination and communication with internal teams, partners, donors, and local stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.

These responsibilities will be reviewed with the line manager from time to time.

To be successful, you will need:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from a recognized and reputable university in Bangladesh or abroad. A Master’s degree in a related field will be given priority.

Education: Minimum 5 years of relevant water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector experience with national/international NGOs or development organizations, including proven expertise in project implementation, partner management, budgeting, and donor reporting.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong understanding of technical, social, institutional, and compliance aspects of WASH, including climate resilience, universal accessibility, and coastal context in Bangladesh.
• Sound knowledge of donor reporting, budgeting, project documentation, and national WASH policies and guidelines.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, and report-writing skills in Bangla and English, with strong monitoring and stakeholder coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, GIS, and relevant software, with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively within teams.
