WePlanet is entering a phase of organisational growth that requires stronger financial modelling, forecasting, and financial planning systems to support responsible expansion and strategic decision-making.

We are seeking a Senior Finance Officer (part-time) to help strengthen our financial planning and analysis capabilities. This role focuses on forward-looking financial modelling, cashflow forecasting, grant financial planning, and financial risk monitoring.

Working closely with the Secretary General, the Senior Finance Officer will help ensure leadership has the financial insight needed to plan hiring, manage grant funding, and support the organisation's long-term sustainability.

This role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys building financial models, translating financial data into strategic insight, and working in a small, distributed organisation where financial planning plays a critical role in decision-making.

The role is remote and part-time, with an estimated commitment of 16–20 hours per week during the first 3–4 months, reducing to approximately 8–12 hours per week once systems and processes are established.

Applications will remain open until the position is filled, but priority will be given to candidates who apply promptly and are available to start at the earliest opportunity.

A bit about us

WePlanet is a global movement of citizens and scientists with an urgent mission to defend the science we need to save the planet.

United by a philosophy called ecomodernism, we believe that achieving human prosperity and planetary restoration are possible at the same time. We advocate for evidence-based environmental solutions that can restore ecosystems while improving human wellbeing.

Our campaigns focus on issues such as clean energy, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity protection, and global development. We work with scientists, policymakers, and citizens around the world to advance pragmatic, science-based solutions to environmental challenges.

Starting with several national chapters in Europe, WePlanet has grown into an international movement with groups across Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and North America.

As our organisation grows, we are strengthening our financial systems to ensure responsible planning and long-term sustainability.

We welcome applications from candidates in European time zones (CET ±2 preferred).
