At Milkywire, we’re on a mission to accelerate global climate action and nature conservation through strategic funding. We connect businesses with high-quality projects focused on long-term environmental impact, including carbon removal, nature protection and restoration, and climate resilience. We are now looking for an experienced Senior Impact Manager to lead our efforts on a new initiative focusing on accelerating the adoption and use of innovative technologies such as AI to address critical climate challenges for people and the planet.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape a brand new initiative which aims to connect experts in emerging technologies, climate scientists, community organizations, and companies to drive meaningful, large-scale environmental and social change. You will help bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world impact.
The role
As Senior Impact Manager, you will curate and manage a portfolio of high-impact projects aimed at ensuring innovative technologies are deployed where they are most needed to address pressing climate and sustainability challenges. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the program’s strategy, managing project selection, monitoring and fostering partnerships with experts and communities worldwide. This is a dynamic role for someone who is driven by purpose and enjoys a fast-paced environment.
The role is open to remote candidates, with occasional travel to Stockholm for team meetings and key events.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Program Strategy: Lead strategy development, ensuring that the wider program and supported projects align with Milkywire’s broader mission to drive impactful and scalable climate solutions.
Identify, screen & select projects for funding: Source promising ideas, run rigorous impact and risk assessments, and collaborate with our independent advisory group to fund only the highest-quality projects.
Impact assessment & reporting: Build and run a robust framework that tracks environmental and social outcomes, then report results to funders and partners with clarity and transparency.
Stakeholder Engagement: Forge strong relationships with corporate partners, experts on new and emerging technologies, climate scientists, and community organisations to ensure solutions meet real-world needs.
Thought leadership: Author insightful articles, white papers, and other publications, and represent Milkywire at conferences, panels, and in the media.
Experience:
A degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Sustainability, AI/Technology, or Business Administration. Advanced degrees are a plus.
5-10 years of experience in sustainability, with a strong understanding of AI applications for climate action.
Proven track record of managing complex projects, with experience in impact measurement and evaluation methodologies.
Core skills:
AI and Climate Expertise: Deep understanding of how AI can be applied to accelerate solutions in the climate space, particularly within climate adaptation and resilience.
Strategic & analytical mindset: You spot high-impact opportunities, navigate complex programme dynamics, and allocate resources where they generate the greatest value.
AI Proficiency: You comfortably use AI tools to inform decisions, streamline processes, and improve outcomes across the programme lifecycle.
High Agency: Self-starter who turns ambiguity into action, makes well-reasoned decisions quickly and adapts as new information emerges.
Strong communication skills: You convey technical ideas in clear, engaging language and tailor messages to senior executives, scientists, and community partners alike.
Stakeholder engagement: You build trust quickly, maintain productive partnerships, and keep diverse collaborators pulling in the same direction.
