Senior UX Motion Designer

As a Senior UX Motion Designer, you will contribute across two distinct dimensions of the Insight Timer experience. On the motion side, you'll define what motion means at Insight Timer and bring meaning and elegance to the features our users love most. On the product side, you'll work with the Head of Design on 0 to 1 features and own product improvements to our core experience.

This role requires product and systems thinking, and a collaborative, improvisational mindset. Our process is evolving rapidly and we're looking for someone who thrives in that momentum, excited to adopt new tooling, new ways of working, and bring their craft to a team that's moving fast.

The first stage is a portfolio review, so please include several high-quality consumer mobile app and web case studies demonstrating product thinking and highlighting motion.

Key Responsibilities

• Motion Design: Bring polish and meaning to key product experiences through elegant motion, transitions, and micro-interactions. Radically explore new approaches, create initial motion concepts and high-fidelity mocks, and navigate ambiguity by translating complex ideas into tangible, testable visuals.
• Product Design: Design beautiful, intuitive mobile interfaces across core and AI-powered features, maintaining the simplicity that makes Insight Timer accessible to everyone. Support the Head of Design on larger initiatives, with a path to full ownership as you grow into the team.
• Prototyping: Create interactive prototypes on a weekly cadence to pitch new features and experiments with product leads; ready to lead, contribute, or translate depending on the moment.
• Design-to-Engineering Handoff: Translate promising prototypes into polished, spec-ready designs aligned with our system. Create detailed motion documentation and logic so developers can implement accurately, ensuring even the most expressive concepts are technically viable and seamlessly integrated.
• Testing & Iteration: Design variants and rapidly iterate as part of our continuous testing culture.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with the Head of Design, Senior PMs, engineers, and CEO. Quickly and precisely respond to feedback in real-time, keeping the collective goal cohesive while elevating ideas into well-crafted experiences.

• 4+ years designing consumer mobile apps, with a portfolio demonstrating strong craft, measurable user impact, and compelling mobile case studies
• Exceptional motion design skills: transitions, micro-interactions, and the ability to make motion feel purposeful rather than decorative.
• Strong UI/UX fundamentals: visual design, information architecture, and the ability to make complex features feel simple.
• Comfortable working across the full design process, from research and concepting through to engineering handoff.
• Energised by shifting priorities and a varied day-to-day; comfortable moving between projects week to week and excited by the pace that comes with a fast-moving product team. 
• Collaborative and communicative; experienced working alongside PMs, engineers, and senior stakeholders.
• Excited by AI design and prototyping tools.
