ABOUT BEYOND PETROCHEMICALS

Beyond Petrochemicals: People Over Pollution is a national campaign working to address the expansion of the U.S. petrochemical industry and build a healthier, more just future for communities. Launched in 2022 by Bloomberg Philanthropies, the campaign supports frontline communities and partners working to prevent new and expanded petrochemical projects, while advancing stronger protections for those living near existing facilities.

Building on the success of Bloomberg’s Beyond Coal and Beyond Carbon campaigns, Beyond Petrochemicals focuses on three core regions – Texas, Louisiana, and the Ohio River Valley – where most proposed expansion is concentrated. The campaign brings together grassroots organizing, strategic communications, research, and policy advocacy to drive long-term reductions in petrochemical production and related pollution. Beyond Petrochemicals is a fiscally sponsored project of the Resources Legacy Fund, a nonprofit organization that advances equitable and durable environmental solutions.
