VP of Finance & Operations

VentureFriends.vc is a European VC fund investing in pre-Seed to Series A tech-enabled B2B and B2C startups, with a sweet spot for FinTech, Marketplaces and SaaS models.

We launched VentureFriends in early 2016 starting from Athens and have since expanded our presence to London, Warsaw and Barcelona, having raised in total 4 funds with an AuM of >€250m. So far we have invested in >75 startups across 20 countries globally with a focus in Europe, having supported early on great companies such as Blueground, Instashop, Huspy, Plum, Carmoola, Flexcar, HarborLab, Spotawheel and Barte among others. We aspire to be the first call for ambitious founders in the categories that fall within our investment scope.

Having said the above, VentureFriends is looking to hire a VP. As a VP of Finance & Operations, you will lead and oversee the audit, finance & accounting as well as reporting of the Fund. In addition, you will have the opportunity to improve the systems and operations of the Fund as well as interact with the investment team and support top people (founders, investors and tech talent) in the ecosystem.

Key responsibilities:

FINANCE

• Preparation of Quarterly Investor Reports across all funds & SPVs
• Lead Quarterly Reporting towards institutional investors (EIF and HDBI)
• Review and assist in Annual Audited accounts across 4 funds
• Liaise with external Accountants for monthly accounts
• Oversee monthly payments, invoices, obligations and budget
• Oversee Capital Calls and Distributions towards investors

OPERATIONS

• Support in payment execution for investments and coordinate with back office
• Assist in Investor relations, transactions, onboarding and support
• Maintain, improve and implement systems, team policies & processes
• Responsible for office & employee management
• Support in KYC & ESG requests from investors and portfolio companies
• Responsible for setup, reporting and support on SPVs

• Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in Accounting, Audit and Finance in a Big 4, company or Fund
• Excellent excel skills and comfort with numbers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Greek
• Exhibition of personal, academic or professional achievements and a drive to learn and develop
• Comfort with legal documentation
• Tax & Structuring experience is a plus
