About the Role

As a leader in the WASH sector in Nigeria, we are consistently tasked with designing and

implementing programs that demonstrate learning and innovation to maximize our

effectiveness and impact. We are therefore seeking the services of a WASH Consultant to support and lead the delivery of our donor-funded WASH projects.

 

In this role, you will be expected to:

Play a key role in delivering key components of WaterAid's project objectives, including the construction of facilities, operation, and maintenance. They will also support evidence-based advocacy by WaterAid at the state and LGA levels to improve access to WASH in Nigeria. Furthermore, they will be responsible for ensuring that field-level programming aligns with the sector strengthening agenda and that evidence generated from WaterAid Nigeria's (WANG) fieldwork and technical innovations is used to influence policies and programs at local, state, and national levels.

To be successful, you’ll need: 

  • A university degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on water-related disciplines such as Water Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or Environmental Engineering is required.
  • A master’s degree in Water Resource Management, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Management will be considered an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience of which at least 5 must be in WASH Programme/project management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of borehole drilling, water supply systems, and sanitation infrastructure.
  • Proven experience working on infrastructure projects within the development sector.
  • Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, planning, and reporting.
  • Strong in project design, implementation strategies, monitoring evaluation.
