About the Team

This role would be part of a 50+ person sales team responsible for the commercial growth of GSMA Limited; selling across the flagship events; MWC Barcelona, Shanghai, Kigali, Las Vegas, Doha as well as our M360 series and 4YFN events, Media, Intelligence and Services platforms. The team spans offices in Europe, Asia, China and the Americas with a collaborative, supportive and vibrant atmosphere.

This specific role will be part of the M360 series sales team. The M360 series are a series of small-scale regional thought-leadership events made up of 3 regional events in locations in APAC, LATAM and Eurasia with attendance of circa 1,000 as well as two MWC events located in Africa and MENA with attendance of circa 3,000-5,000. These events are highly strategic and serve the needs of the GSMA reach into these regions.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated and energetic Account Manager to develop our revenues from our existing M360 series of events, as well as MWC Kigali and MWC Doha (launching in November 2025) alongside potential additional launches in the future.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Managing and growing revenues for M360 series, MWC Kigali and MWC Doha through sponsorship and exhibition sales to local, regional and global organisations at a senior level

  • Ability to conduct multiple sales campaigns simultaneously across all events

  • Working in a position within the broader commercial sales function of GSMA Ltd

  • Managing a selection of key, strategic clients – selling directly to them, building strong business relationships, ensuring the event meets their requirements and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction

  • New Business development and research in all regions for potential sponsors – involves sourcing leads from existing GSMA clients but also through proactive outreach via social media, LinkedIn, news publications, and competitive events

  • Liaison with marketing, operations, customer service and finance

  • Supporting the analysis of sales statistics to determine business growth potential

  • Ability to travel internationally including other events

About You

  • Minimum of four years’ sales experience ideally in conference & exhibition sales or selling events and/or services in the connectivity/telco/IT sector

  • Commercially minded with initiative and a hunger for new business

  • Ability to manage, develop and deliver multiple sales campaigns simultaneously

  • Proven track record of sales & account management, meeting and exceeding targets

  • Proven success in managing the full sales cycle from planning to closing deals

  • Ability to offer a first-class, professional sales and account management service to commercial partners and to build strong business relationships at all levels

  • Proven organisational and multi-tasking skills

  • Proactive approach to identifying opportunities, generating leads and producing sales presentations

  • Familiar with Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator are also an advantage

  • Excellent phone manner & written skills

  • A can-do attitude and great team player who foster great relationships both internal and external
