Position Overview:

The Accounting Associate position will assist and report to Program Technical Advisor at district level in carrying out all accounts-related initiatives. The position will provide general help as and when required by team members of Room to Read district and country office. Primary responsibilities include assisting in maintaining all aspects of the organization’s accounts and financial initiatives. The position will have regular interactions with all staff and is based in Narail.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Book-keeping of financial transactions in field office

  • Cheque Sign to Signatory & Related Explanation and Cash book Writing

  • Vat & Tax Submitted to Bank

  • Accounting and financial documentation, reporting and forecasting

  • Preparation of Comparative statement (CS), purchase order (PO)/contract and submit to Technical Advisor for review and recommendation/approval

  • Monthly accounts closing

  • Assist Internal & External Audit with the guidance of Technical Advisor and Country Office finance applicable

  • Supporting statutory and internal audits

  • Monthly Financial Report Prepare & Sent

  • Banking transaction for Program and Indirect

  • Other tasks, as required

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting/ commerce/ business administration (Masters preferred)

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in accounting and finance position

  • Experience of working with NGO is preferred

  • Good interpersonal skills and a team player

  • Relevant computer-operating skills and relevant software

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred:

  • Effectiveness in working or volunteering in a non-profit organization that is focused on maintaining high quality work and low overhead

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global or regional organization

  • Proven track record of achieving results

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiative

  • Prior experience living and/or working in rural areas.
