Acumen India is seeking an Analyst with at least 2 years of work experience in either consulting, research or private equity space to support in core portfolio analytics including performance tracking, risk assessment, historical analysis, scenario analysis, and basic stress testing across regions and sectors.

Role Overview

The Analyst will work closely with and support the Global Portfolio Analytics Lead to deliver high-quality portfolio analytics, market research, and investment process support across Acumen’s global portfolio. This role is responsible for executing core analytical work—such as portfolio performance analysis, risk and scenario analysis, market research, and data reporting—that informs investment decisions and portfolio management.

Portfolio Analytics & Market Research

  • Support the Global Portfolio Analytics Lead in executing core portfolio analytics including performance tracking, risk assessment, historical analysis, scenario analysis, and basic stress testing across regions and sectors.
  • Prepare country notes, market briefs, and economic analyses under guidance, for review by senior stakeholders including the CIO.
  • Compile, clean, and analyze financial and economic data to support forecasting, benchmarking, and portfolio insights.

Data, Tools & Reporting

  • Work with portfolio management and analytics tools (e.g., eFront or similar systems) to extract, validate, and maintain accurate portfolio data.
  • Support the development and upkeep of dashboards, scorecards, and recurring portfolio reports.
  • Coordinate with Finance and regional teams to ensure consistent data capture and reporting processes.
  • Assist the Global Portfolio Analytics Lead in testing and documenting enhancements to analytical tools, including early exploration of automation and AI-enabled analytics.

Portfolio Monitoring & Special Analysis

  • Assist in ongoing portfolio monitoring, including performance tracking, variance analysis, and data quality checks.
  • Support analytical work for special situations (e.g., exits, restructurings, refinancing, expedited approvals) under close supervision.
  • Identify emerging trends, risks, or data issues and escalate them to the Global Investment Analytics Lead.

Learning, Knowledge & Collaboration

  • Learn Acumen’s portfolio analytics frameworks, investment processes, and systems through hands-on execution.
  • Document analytical approaches, assumptions, and outputs to support knowledge sharing and continuity.

Qualification & Skills:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in investment analysis, portfolio analytics, consulting, economics, finance, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; comfort working with financial and economic datasets.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with dashboards or data visualization tools; exposure to portfolio systems (e.g., eFront) is a plus.
  • Ability to translate analysis into clear, structured outputs for senior review.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to manage priorities with guidance.
  • Interest in global markets, development finance, and impact investing.
  • Self-reflective, values-driven, and aligned with Acumen’s mission and values
  • Permanent authorization to work in India
