The Analytics Manager will lead a team of analysts and analytics engineers focused on analyzing the company’s coaching services, the impact of such services, and the company’s products and services in close collaboration with stakeholders.  The incumbent will shape the way business and performance are measured, define what questions should be asked, and lead the development of analytics methods, tools and best practices to support our coaching programs and product portfolio.


The Analytics Manager manages other employees, which may or may not include other managers; is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these teams.  Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Managers are responsible for the asset management of all company equipment assigned to their employees and/or contingent workforce (contractors, consultants, temporary workers, etc.).  This includes ordering equipment for onboarding and collecting equipment during the exit process.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead a team of analysts and analytics engineers in partnering with InsideTrack stakeholders to understand and address business needs.
  • Leverage technical expertise and people management skills to lead and mentor a growing team of highly talented data analysts and analytics engineers focused on building our analytics programs.
  • Partner with coaching operations, technical solutions and engineering teams to identify opportunities to use advanced data analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality and accurate regular reports on time, including those for the annual partnership review.
  • Oversee development of operational dashboards for managerial and leadership teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with InsideTrack leadership to establish a strategy and direction for data analytics at InsideTrack, including client reporting, internal reporting and cross-institutional insights.
  • Establish an analytical framework, process and roadmap for measuring, evaluating and drawing insights for InsideTrack’s products and services.
  • Manage end-to-end analytics requests through effective management of data analysts and analytics engineers. Respond to changing priorities and reallocate resources as necessary.
  • Communicate results and operational impacts of data and insight initiatives to stakeholders through the creation of compelling data visualizations and dashboards.
  • Lead team to partner closely with Program Area Leads and Strategic Program Directors to tell a compelling story to each client partnership.
  • Present to clients and internal stakeholders; support team members in their presentations.
  • Evaluate third-party analytics and reporting products, as needed.
  • Provide internal data analytics industry thought-leadership and support external communication initiatives.
  • Perform related duties as requested.


Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, analytics, business, finance or related field of study; Master’s degree preferred (BS/MS in a quantitative discipline is preferred).


Performance Requirements:
  • Five (5) + years of experience working in data analytics.
  • Three (3) + years of experience managing data analysts and/or data scientists.
  • Broad expertise in technical data tools and methods, including data engineering and analytics engineering, descriptive and predictive statistics, the modern data stack, experimentation, and data visualization.
  • Pattern of successfully building durable processes that increase the efficiency and leverage of your teams in hiring, talent development, knowledge management, and standardizing methods.
  • Hands-on experience leading teams whose primary goal is to derive operational and program insights to inform future business and program/service decisions.
  • Experience leading a team to be consultative and collaborative with stakeholders.
  • Fluent in data analysis tools and visualization (e.g., SQL, Python, R, FiveTran, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Tableau).
  • Ability to serve as a leader and advocate for team analytics members.
  • Experience working across the full stack of data analysis, including ETL, data engineering, data analytics, and data visualization.
  • Impactful presentation and data visualization skills to convey results clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and drive forward multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills on quantitative topics for non-technical and executive audiences.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex information, talk with customers and listen attentively.
  • Ability to interact professionally with individuals from various professional and cultural backgrounds at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to effectively adjust communication style as appropriate for a given audience.
  • Conducts job functions in a manner which consistently promotes a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers, models and supports the company’s core values and basic principles.  This includes but is not limited to maintaining constructive and professional relationships with peers, supervisory personnel and internal and external customers, facilitating change and serving as a role model, and proactively meeting customers’ needs in a timely fashion.
  • Security is Everyone’s Responsibility:  In order to protect InsideTrack’s personnel, customers, assets and mission, security is the responsibility of every employee.  To maintain security, employees are required to read, understand, and follow company security policies, including but not limited to the WISP and Employee Handbook.  In addition, security training supporting those policies is required at least annually.
  • Must protect the confidentiality of student personal information and comply with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Must comply with all company procedures and policies, including company privacy and security policies.

$140,000 - $152,500 a year
Compensation will depend on skills and experience.

The pay range listed is based on national compensation benchmark data and may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, variations in cost of labor, and in some cases, geographic location.  The exact job offer will be determined based on several factors such as the candidate’s individual skills, qualifications and experience relative to the requirements of the role.  The range displayed with the job posting represents the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across the U.S.  

The organization also reviews and considers internal equity (current employee salary) when hiring new employees to the organization.  The range is the expected starting base salary for someone hired into this position with room to grow professionally, including increased earning potential beyond the starting pay range.  Beyond a new hire’s base salary, InsideTrack also offers all full-time employees a comprehensive employee benefit package.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This position will require the incumbent to travel between two - five percent (2-5%) of the time for business meetings with some overnight travel required.  The amount of travel and expectations for the same are subject to change based on business needs and demands.  


TYPICAL PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS: 

Requires prolonged sitting with some bending, stooping and stretching; eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a laptop computer, keyboard, telephone, and office equipment.  Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.   Also requires moderate to intense concentration due to complexity and/or need to meet deadlines, and flexibility to readily adapt to a changing environment.
