Employees of Black Feminist Future work across the 501(c)(3) organization and its 501(c)(4) arm, Black Feminist Future Action Fund, to maintain alignment and cohesion of organizational strategy and objectives across both entities, as established by the Executive Director.



About Black Feminist Future

Black Feminist Future (BFF) is an initiative informed by the legacy of Black feminist organizing, grounded in the current pulse of movements, and located at the emergent need to amplify the power of ALL Black women and girls in organizing and building power for the 21st century. BFF is a movement incubator that focuses on the dynamic possibilities of galvanizing the social and political power of those who have the lived experience of being a Black woman or girl including but not limited to trans, cis, gender non conforming, non binary, LGBTQIA, and other gender marginalized people. Our vision of Black feminisms values and centers those who are most marginalized within our communities. BFF intends to amplify and build the leadership of Black feminist leaders and increase the capacity of Black feminist movement building.

Summary

The Associate Director of Campaigns (ADC) will serve as the senior director’s right hand, driving the implementation of BFF’s organizing strategy and cultivating the largest, most engaged base of Black feminist leaders. This role centers on campaign development, execution, and ensuring that initiatives integrate transformative interventions that provide material support to communities while building political power. The ADC will manage campaigns that activate and engage members, train member-leaders, and strengthen grassroots community-based organizing efforts.

This position will provide execution and operational oversight for Black Feminist Future Action Fund, BFF’s 501(c)(4) arm, ensuring that all efforts advance Black feminist electoral power.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and integrating the Black Feminist framework into programming
    • C4 work: electoral organizing
    • C3 work: civic and community engagement
  • Oversee campaign planning and execution with clear deliverables and timelines.
  • Supporting field operations and campaign execution, ensuring coordinated implementation across activities and locations.
  • Act as operational and strategic partner to the senior director.
  • Ensure team accountability and performance tracking against objectives.
  • Identify gaps and implement solutions to increase efficiency, including staffing, workflows, and communications.
  • Optional: People management, depending on team scope.

The ideal candidate is an experienced organizer who can activate our transformative organizing tactics, operationalize strategic plans, and bring strong knowledge of 501(c)(4) electoral strategy and compliance, along with experience leveraging civic engagement to build Black feminist power, all while uplifting Black feminist leadership and values.

  • Leadership development that equips Ambassadors, members, and staff to act with accountability, confidence, and Black feminist principles.
  • Transformative interventions that provide material support and deepen legitimacy within communities.
  • Clear execution of campaign and membership strategies that align with BFF’s Block and Build Plan.

AD Expanded Duties:

  • Campaign Development & Management
    • Provide execution and oversight of BFF Action Fund (501(c)(4)) initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and compliance.
    • Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of issue-based and electoral campaigns that advance Black feminist political power.
    • Research (strategic and aligned candidates, races, ballot initiatives, etc), management of endorsement committee (made up of BFF AF members), and engagement with priority candidates and their campaigns (when strategic and necessary)
    • Lead strategy development of BFF’s existing programs like VLABF into civic engagement and democracy campaigns (C3/C4), including Build Power Like a Black Feminist.
    • Develop multi-channel strategies (SMS, digital, direct outreach, mass actions) to expand reach and engagement.
    • Oversee the creation of voter education materials, including guides and outreach campaigns (ex, 3,000 voter guide downloads, SMS campaigns reaching 1 million people).
    • Organize high-impact events, actions, and blitzes, ensuring strong community and member participation.
    • Support and expand BFF’s Unbossed Ambassadors Program, including training 35–50 Ambassadors and equipping 200 members with leadership development tools.
  • Leadership & Staff Management
    • Develop and manage Power Building –Campaigns staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and leadership development.
    • Provide guidance to staff in campaign strategy
    • Collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Power Building, and other PB departmental staff to ensure alignment between programmatic execution and broader organizational strategy.
    • Evaluate campaigns, program outcomes, and community impact, iterating strategies to ensure continuous growth and effectiveness.

  • High-level experience in campaign strategy, management, or organizing.
  • Ability to operate independently and take ownership of complex projects.
  • Strong judgment and maturity to navigate organizational challenges.
  • Experience leading or managing a team .
  • Excellent coordination and problem-solving skills.

Location

Black Feminist Future is a hybrid organization, based in Atlanta, GA with staff working both remote and in office with mandatory in person staff and team meetings and in office visits during the year. This position is located in Atlanta and expected to work in the office twice per week.
