About the Role 

We are seeking an Associate II, Marketing that will support the execution of the Foundations programmatic in-person events, corporate partnerships, and community activations across the country. This role will provide hands-on experience in event planning, project management, partnership activation, and cross-departmental collaboration 

 

The Associate II, Marketing will work closely with the Marketing Manager and collaborate with colleagues in Marketing & Communications, Development and Programs to ensure seamless execution of high-quality events, activations, and partnerships that showcase the Foundation’s mission and impact. 

 

About the Team 

The Marketing & Communications Department is a nine-person team, responsible for shaping the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s brand, overseeing all external communications and events, and showcasing the organization’s work to engage key audiences. The Marketing and Communications Team is part of the Revenue Group and is critical to the positioning of the Foundation to external stakeholders—including corporate partners and individual donors. The Marketing & Communications Department works collaboratively with all other Departments to enhance their unique content, while ensuring the organization communicates a consistent narrative. The Marketing & Communications Department is responsible for organizational messaging and branding, program and organizational marketing strategies, digital strategy, media relations, speechwriting, thought leadership, storytelling, public event planning and execution, graphic design, video production, and annual individual campaigns. 

 

Responsibilities 

Event Execution & Support: 

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing events nationwide, including mini-pitch openings, Just Ball Unity Cups, community soccer celebrations, and partner activations.  
  • Support logistics such as vendor management, run-of-show development, staffing, and onsite execution. 
  • Help manage collateral, signage and other branded or co-branded materials. 
  • Coordinate the execution of corporate partner deliverables at events
    and proactively communicate areas of opportunities as they arise.
     
  • Support all funder marketing and events related deliverables and report results back to key internal and external parties. 
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing & Communications team, and external photographers and videographers to capture content, stories, and other assets from events. 
  • Maintain event and partnership calendars, timelines and task trackers using Asana. 
  • Assist in the development of event
    recaps and impact reports for internal and external stakeholders.
     
  • Support overall event and partnership budgets by tracking expenses, reconciling costs, and ensuring projects stay within budget. 
  • Process, code and track vendor invoices and payments in a timely manner. 
  • Develop strong relationships with external partners, such as corporate partner marketing and communications teams and consultant groups, and work collaboratively to execute events and other marketing deliverables that achieve social impact and business objectives. 
  • Travel, evening, and weekend work is sometimes required (approximately 30% travel; approximately 10 events a year occur on weekends or evenings) 


 

General Marketing: 

  • Draft copy for event invitations, partner communications and recap reports 
  • Gather and organize photos, videos, and testimonials to share with internal and external teams 
  • Assist with social media content related to events  
  • Support preparation for presentations, one-pagers, or toolkits for partners 

 

About You 

  • At least three years of experience in event management, marketing, partnerships, or related field. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent experience 
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to manage projects from ideation through execution. 
  • Ability to support the execution of multiple large events at once (20+ annually nationwide), with the opportunity to take on leadership of smaller-scale events over time. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to professionally represent the Foundation to key partners, executives, funders, community representatives, and other stakeholders. 
  • Enjoys and excels in the fast-paced environment of public-facing events and initiatives. 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects with an open, innovative, and efficient perspective;
    possesses a strong work ethic as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team; enjoys creative problem solving and adaptability.
