Position Overview:

The Associate Manager, Technology will play a critical role in strengthening technology delivery capabilities across Room to Read. The position is designed to bridge business requirements with technical execution, ensuring that software development projects and technology initiatives are delivered successfully, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational needs. This role combines technical expertise with project management skills, serving as a hybrid Technical and Non-Technical Project Manager. The Associate Manager will be responsible for guiding solution architecture, integrating innovative technologies such as AI/ML, and fostering collaboration across global and regional teams. The position will report to Senior Director, Global Technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Projects Ownership: Own project initiatives end-to-end, from scoping to execution and delivery.

  • Technical Translation: Work with business teams to gather requirements and translate them into actionable technical tasks.

  • Architecture Oversight: Review and guide solution architecture to ensure scalability, performance, and compliance.

  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business units.

  • Risk & Timeline Management: Identify project risks, manage timelines, and ensure delivery within scope and budget.

  • AI Integration: Understand AI components (models, pipelines, data flows) and ensure their effective integration into business processes.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 7–8 years of experience in technology roles, including project management and software development.

  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) concepts.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification is a plus.

  • Be adept at translating functional requirements into technical specifications.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, partners and internal technology teams.

  • Possess a technical foundation, with hands-on experience in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL).

  • Understand system architecture, APIs, cloud platforms, and AI/ML components.

  • Demonstrate proven experience in managing AI/ML projects from ideation to deployment.
