1. General Background
UNHCR works to protect refugees and other displaced people across the globe.
The work is diverse, highly challenging and requires committed, responsive, and flexible staff with a high degree of motivation and professional skills. In a context of growing humanitarian needs and pressured public budgets,
UNHCR is increasing the level of resources it raises from Individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations.
Within Private Sector and Partnership (PSP), the Global Analysis and System Team provides strategic and technical support to embed fundraising excellence in national & regional Individual Giving (IG) programmes and ensure that PSP achieves high fundraising revenue growth in the coming years at an optimal level of performance. The Analysis team exists to provide the analytical foundation for developing investment strategies. The team works with the PSP network and regional teams to support individual markets to develop mid-term, long term, sustainable strategies for individual giving and high value channels that are both donor-centered and grounded in data.
The Global Analysis and System team also provides market insights and intelligence at global and national level to assist markets and regional teams in leveraging best practices both in donor acquisition and donor development areas of individual giving by identifying Best-in-Class peer organizations and Bright Spots (inside UNHCR). The Associate Analysis & Research Officer will operate in a context where the Global Analysis and System Team is developing several key projects aiming at improving PSP level of insight into fundraising performance and identifying fundraising opportunities to build stronger PSP IG
operations.
From a technical point of view, the success of projects in which the Associate Analysis & Research Officer will be involved, will highly depend on the quality of the data feeding into the analysis, the improvement of systems and processes in place to transform raw data into fundraising information, and the team’s
capacity to formulate and disseminate actionable findings at global and national levels. The team is looking for a maternity cover.
