The Development and Outreach Department of Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking candidates for the position of Associate in the Los Angeles office. The Southern California Associate provides detail-oriented administrative support to the Development and Outreach teams, based in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, with a focus on managing and organizing the Salesforce database while also collaborating on all communications, administration, and event coordination. The Associate will participate in team meetings and will have opportunities to attend trainings and events related to human rights, as well as network with colleagues around the world.
This is a full-time position that will report to the Los Angeles Associate Director. The successful candidate will be expected to work from the office 4-5 days a week during busy season but may have the option to work remotely 1-3 days during slower times. Some evening and weekend work will be required for events.
Database & Fundraising Operations: Maintain the city’s Salesforce and Marketing Cloud database, ensuring data accuracy and recording all information in a timely manner:
Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in human rights, international relations, social science, or a related field is required.
Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant work experience in development, nonprofit administration, or communications is required. Events experience is also desirable.
Other: Candidates must possess valid work authorization to live and work in the US; HRW is unable to sponsor work visas for this role.
The successful candidate must have access to a personal vehicle to travel to and from events, occasionally transport visiting colleagues locally, and on occasion, between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.
Salary and Benefits: The salary range for this position is $ 60,001 - $64,328. HRW seeks exceptional applicants and offers competitive compensation and employer-paid benefits.
