Barista/ Bartender

Powerhouse Arts
On-site
Brooklyn, New York, United States

Powerhouse Arts is a not-for-profit organization committed to creative expression. Housed in a purpose-built-facility in Brooklyn, the organization hosts an extended network of art and fabrication professionals and educators who work together to co-create and share artistic practices vital to the well-being of artists and the communities to which they serve. Our facilities house fabrication services, production services, production spaces, and member workshops for artisans. In 2025, PHA welcomed thousands of patrons as the building became a center for art and performance.

As the Powerhouse Arts continues to grow and expand its impact, PHA is seeking 2–3 experienced Baristas/Bartenders to join our team and staff the new café opening in the lobby of our facility. This café will mainly serve the staff, members and PHA community, while also being open to the public for events and walk-in foot traffic. We are searching for responsible, independent individuals with extensive barista experience who would be capable of running a café solo during the day, but who would also be comfortable and interested in working and bartending our larger, catered events in the evening when necessary.

  • Greet customers with kindness and respect.
  • Demonstrate strong product knowledge and confidently engage with guest on the menu.
  • Learn, prepare and serve the full beverage menu to guest.

  • Follow all Department of Health (DOH) protocols, maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized café environment.
  • Properly handle, clean, and operate all café equipment, including the espresso machine and grinder, drip coffee machine, panini press, convection oven, ice maker, food warmer, and related equipment
  • Provide occasional event bartending, including serving pre-batched cocktails, wine, and beer; mixing basic cocktails; and carrying trays of beverages through crowds
