ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are seeking a Campaign Manager who will be responsible for planning and executing social impact campaigns, contributing to the development of communication strategies, developing partnerships and identifying mobilisation opportunities for maximum impact

The person in this role will 

  1. Lead the development and execution of a campaign around transition to electric mobility  
  2. Lead the development of the campaign for the 15bn trees campaign  
  3. Advise on opportunities and contribute to brand presence in the region

This is a full-time position offered at the Manager level for a monthly fee commensurate with experience.

  • Engagement type: Fixed Term Contract
  • Working hours: 40 hours per week 
  • Duration: 6 months [January - June 2026], with a possibility for extension
  • Preferred location: Nairobi, Kenya 
  • Working conditions: Remote, with expected travel as per project requirements 
  • Language Requirement: Fluency in English but desirable proficiency in Swahili and other indigenous languages 
  • Desired Start Date: January 2026

Key responsibilities

Campaign Strategy and Opportunity Identification:

  • Lead/support the development of campaign strategies that mobilize people for concrete actions 
  • Analyze the media landscape and identify opportunities for strategic interventions to generate significant impact.
  • Develop innovative approaches to engage new audiences, using creative campaign concepts and content based on in-depth strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Create impactful narratives and identify opportunities and channels to disseminate stories that inspire action and transformation.

Campaign Creation and Execution

  • Plan, create, and execute engagement and mobilization campaigns, from the research and conception phase to final execution, playing a central role in the development of strategic content, such as texts for social media.
  • Coordinate the development of campaign content in partnership with the Purpose creative team, including videos, graphics, and websites that broaden audience reach and engagement.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies with both online and offline tactics.
  • Create briefs for creative teams and collaborate on campaign opportunities and co-develop engaging creative concepts.
  • Organise and manage events and community building actions that mobilize supporters, raise awareness  and bring campaign messages to life.
  • Contribute to/lead the creation of campaign reports with results and learnings.

Network and Partnership Coordination

  • Map and manage/coordinate actors and partners to develop and execute collaborative campaigns.
  • Maintain active and close relationships with key representatives of organizations and partners for projects and campaigns.
  • Guide and support the development of campaigns by partner organizations.

Project Leadership and team management

  • Sets the high-level direction and goals of the project, in collaboration with Project Principal and Project Manager
  • Reviews and approves outputs before delivery to the client and manages relationship with main client point of contact
  • Leads the project team, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear and the project is adequately staffed
  • Provides feedback and resolves internal team conflicts
  • Tracks project finances in close collaboration with the project manager   
  • Cultivates a collaborative and inclusive environment

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience designing and executing campaigns for social impact issues, preferably on climate change and environmental topics in Africa
  • Ability to solve complex problems, plan strategically, and deliver creative campaigns that drive action.
  • Skilled in receiving and incorporating feedback from diverse stakeholders to strengthen campaign outcomes.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high organisational standards.
  • Strong writing, storytelling, and communication skills to move audiences and build support.
  • Familiarity with digital campaigns and building movements and/or issues of high relevance to Purpose's mission.
  • Strong teamwork skills, comfortable in a highly collaborative team culture 
  • Commitment to building an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Fluency in English (written and spoken) with desirable proficiency in Swahili and other indigenous languages .
