Purpose of the Role

The Central Development Analyst will play a critical role in the functioning of the department. The primary responsibility of the Central Development Analyst will be to provide administrative support to the Development department’s leadership team. This includes accurately managing their calendars and tracking and executing on follow-up items, thereby ensuring they are dedicating their time to their highest priorities.

You will work closely with the Director of Development Administration to advance a diverse portfolio of project management functions that touch all aspects of the Development team, including surrogate support and coordination and staff development initiatives (professional development, staff retreats, etc.).

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Information Management: Collect and disseminate all background materials necessary for the Development leadership team to participate fully in internal and external meetings, to maintain expertise in all current and future Foundation efforts relevant to donors and prospects, and to monitor relevant developments in the field of philanthropy.

  • Project Coordination: For select projects or meetings, track next steps and ensure completion.

  • Customer Service: Ensure that all stakeholders who have contact with the Development team experience warm and exceptional customer service.

  • Calendar Management: On an as needed basis, manage calendars for members of the Development leadership team.

  • Travel Arrangements: On an as needed basis, book travel and accommodations for the Development leadership team.

  • Expense Administration: Ensure that all expense reimbursements are submitted accurately and on time.

  • Briefing Materials: Draft, edit, and submit error-free briefing materials for external donor meetings.

  • Meeting Correspondence: Draft meeting agendas and disseminate to the appropriate team members before the meeting.

  • CRM Data Entry: Accurately and promptly enter the Development leadership team’s data into Salesforce.

  • Background Research: Conduct background research on prospects, as needed.

  • General Backstopping: On an as needed basis, contribute to the successful operations of other Development subteams.

  • Creation of and iteration on systems and processes for team operating effectiveness

  • Meeting agenda and minutes

  • Background research reports

  • Quality briefing materials

  • Accurate salesforce data

  • Project tracking reports

  • Timely and accurate expense statement reimbursements

Required Qualifications

  • Communicates proactively and collaborates effectively with others to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

  • Strong prioritization skills to effectively juggle short-term and long-term tasks and responsibilities in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional project manager – effectively plans and executes short- and long-term projects.

  • Exceptional communication – written and verbal.

The salary range for this role is between $51,965 and $64,980.

This is an onsite role based at the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park.
