New Politics empowers and inspires a new generation of transformational leaders who prioritize American democracy.

About the Organization

At New Politics, we're not just pining for a different kind of politics—we're building it. From a single recruit in 2014 to over 475 campaigns and $35 million invested in the decade since, our movement of country-first changemakers is showing voters across the ideological spectrum what courageous leadership can accomplish.

Forged by service in the military and other mission-driven organizations, they are leaders not just in title, but in action. We recruit, train, advise, and champion them every step of the way for a second mission of service in politics. Because when they reach the halls of power – whether Congress or state houses, in city councils or school boards – New Politics leaders drive impact, achieve progress in the face of obstacles, and unite and elevate those around them.

We have played a key, often decisive role in launching the political careers of many of the nation's most compelling new leaders, among them:

  • Mikie Sherrill - US Rep. (D-NJ), now the Democratic Nominee for Governor of NJ; former US helicopter pilot
  • Abigail Spanberger - US Rep. (D-VA), now the Democratic Nominee for Governor of VA; former CIA Officer
  • Pat Ryan - US Rep. (NY-17); former US Army Officer
  • Jason Crow - US Rep (CO-); former US Army Officer
  • Chrissy Houlahan - US Rep. (PA-6); former US Air Force Captain, and AmeriCorps Teach for America Alum
  • Jared Golden - US Rep. (ME-02); former US Marine Corps Officer
  • Mike Johnston - Mayor, City of Denver, CO; AmeriCorps Teach for America Alum
  • David Crowley - Milwaukee County Executive, WI; AmeriCorps Public Allies Alum

That's what we're all about – realizing our vision of a new politics where before taking a vote or making a decision, every public servant asks the question: "What's best for the country?".
