We work closely with the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), the global governing body of table tennis, representing 227 Member Associations and more than 30 million competitive players.


About the Role

As Communications Coordinator, you will play an important role in building the ITTF Foundation’s visibility, engaging diverse audiences and communicating its programmes and impact to a global community. You will contribute to delivering impactful messages, strengthening stakeholder engagement and maintaining a positive and consistent online presence across channels.

This is an international role offering the opportunity to take ownership of key communication activities, work closely with colleagues and partners around the world, and contribute to the effective functioning and development of the ITTF Foundation. Location:

Our preferred location for this position is Leipzig, Germany. However, we welcome applications from candidates based elsewhere and encourage qualified candidates to apply. Remote working arrangements may be considered depending on the candidate’s location and circumstances.



Main Responsibilities:

As Communications Coordinator, you will support the ITTF Foundation in building its visibility, engaging its audiences and communicating its programmes and impact globally. Your main responsibilities will include:


Content & Social Media

  • Manage the Foundation’s social media channels, including content planning, creation, publishing, audience engagement and performance monitoring.
  • Create and edit engaging content for the website, social media, newsletters, presentations and other communication materials.
  • Develop and coordinate storytelling and impact content that showcases the Foundation’s programmes, partners and results.
  • Coordinate video content, including event coverage, interviews, highlights and post-event videos.
  • Coordinate newsletters and other direct communication with the Foundation’s audiences, including donors and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with influencers, content creators, media contacts and external communication partners.
  • Support the consistent use of the Foundation’s messaging, visual identity and communication standards across channels and materials.



Website & SEO

  • Together with the Marketing Manager, plan and implement the Foundation’s website revamp, from planning and content development through to coordination of implementation and launch of the new website.
  • Create, update and optimize website content in line with the Foundation’s communication objectives and SEO best practices.



Events, Campaigns & Partnerships

  • Implement communication activities and campaigns in line with the Foundation’s overall communication, marketing and fundraising objectives.
  • Support communications around key events, campaigns, conferences, seminars and other Foundation activities, with a focus on increasing visibility and engagement.
  • Work closely with the marketing and fundraising team to deliver integrated campaigns and maximise visibility, engagement and impact.
  • Support collaboration with the International Table Tennis Federation and World Table Tennis, as well as international sports organisations and other strategic partners, on communication and content opportunities.



Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor communication performance, audience engagement and digital reach, and prepare regular communication reports and insights.
  • Coordinate with the Foundation team on the preparation and production of reports.



Team & Organisational Support

  • Provide communication and organisational support to the Managing Director and wider team.



Line Manager:

The Communications Coordinator will report to the Marketing Manager and will work closely with the other colleagues across the organisation.

Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in communications and social media management.
  • Proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms, social media management tools, and content creation software.
  • Experience with Chinese social media platforms (e.g. RedNote/Xiaohongshu, WeChat, Douyin, Weibo) is an advantage.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS), such as Contao, WordPress, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with email marketing tools, such as Mailchimp.
  • Knowledge of SEO and SEM principles and practices.
  • Basic graphic design and video editing skills (e.g. Canva, CapCut), including experience creating short-form vertical video content for platforms such as Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools to measure and track communication and social media performance.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Knowledge of public relations principles.
  • Ability to integrate AI tools into workflows and use them effectively to support communication and content creation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
