Overview
Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organisation. NP works with people affected by violence to enhance their security and dignity through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). NP works to reduce and prevent violence, protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath, and help transform the world’s response to conflict situations.
Consultancy Summary
The Wellbeing and Leadership Trainer and Coach (WLTC) plays a pivotal role in providing guidance to the Changemakers programme. This two-year initiative is designed to identify and support leaders in protection, peacebuilding, and safety across diverse conflict contexts, equipping communities and organisations with the tools to integrate UCP strategies into their work and create opportunities for meaningful connection and collaboration. The programme offers two key opportunities: 1) participation in a dedicated externally facing UCP Foundational Training (UFT), and 2) development and mentorship of a UCP-inspired initiative or project funded by a micro-grant.
As part of mentorship, the WLTC is tasked with setting up the Peer Welfare Programme (PWP), ensuring that the Changemakers are introduced to trauma sensitivity and essentials of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), such as psychological first aid; stress management; and peer-to-peer support approach. The WLTC will provide holistic and systematic supervision to help Changemakers cultivate self-awareness and self-care while developing their psychosocial skills as they learn low-intensity interventions built for non-specialised personnel. All these practices will be shared through intensive experiential-learning, training and peer-to-peer approach by first applying them among themselves. The WLTC is part of the broader mentorship support service team who will deliver trainings in both transformative leadership and the peer approach.
