About the Team

Located in Brussels, GSMA Europe represents the interest of mobile network operators in Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). In this region, more than 200 mobile network operators provide connections to 730 million unique subscribers. Our team of ten EU policy specialists works closely with global colleagues, using our combined expertise to give the mobile connectivity industry a powerful voice.

About the role

As EU Policy Coordinator, you will contribute to GSMA Europe’s efforts to support our members in advancing their collective public policy interests, related to the European connectivity agenda. You will will be part of the Brussels team that develops consensus positions amongst our European members that inform and influence European policy. Your role will have two main aspects: you will support our Director of Policy on cross-cutting topics such as cloud, fraud, sustainability, emergency calls, and network sunsets; and support our Spectrum Director in ensuring that mobile operators have timely and affordable access to appropriate radio spectrum.

You will be responsible for providing systematic monitoring, analysis and dissemination of political intelligence to inform GSMA’s policy and advocacy work via online media or by attending events, hearings and workshops. You will help coordinate the work of our operator expert groups in Europe, including establishing agendas, developing meeting notes, preparing summaries and briefing papers and following up on agreed activities. You will be a part of coordinating and contribute to GSMA policy positions by consolidating member feedback and writing, updating and editing position papers, policy briefings, public consultation responses, letters, and presentations. You will get to manage functional and administrational support to GSMA working groups and task forces, for example by setting up meetings and disseminating positions to stakeholders.

About You

This is a Fixed Term Contract for 1 year, which would suit someone with a genuine an interest in public policy and EU affairs.

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, conscientious and creative, with a can-do attitude. You’ll need to be able to work across different cultures and deliver results both through individual contribution and by contributing to team efforts through culturally diverse, collaborative teams. You will be required to demonstrate and develop strong project management skills and the ability to work independently.

Please note that the role requires pre-existing authorisation to work in the EU.

About your skills

You are highly proficient in English (oral and written). Additional language skills would be an asset.

You have excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to structure and tailor complex content into clear messaging for different stakeholder audiences.

Your other core skills include delivery, communication, agility, initiative and teamwork.
