Job Title: Data Analyst Intern (Fundraising Analytics) 

 

Position Summary:  

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (“the Foundation”) is seeking top talent for its Data Analyst internship opportunity in our Fundraising Strategy & Operations department on the Fundraising Analytics team.  The Fundraising Analytics Team drives revenue growth by developing data insights that guide revenue strategy. The team is integral in helping the Foundation scale its mission through an expanded revenue base.  The Data Analyst Intern willassist the Fundraising Analytics team in developing analytics and dashboards to inform data governance, leveraging AI tools to automate data governance tasks, and documenting standard procedures for effective data management. 
 
We are seeking a technically skilled, detailed-oriented, multi-tasking, and collaborative intern with basic knowledge of data governance, data analytics, data visualization tools, and an ability to learn in a short period of time. This role offers an exciting opportunity to hone your analytical skills while gaining a full picture of how analytics fits into the operations of the organization.   

This position is expected to have a fully remote or hybrid flex work schedule. If hybrid flex is preferred, MJFF’s office is located in midtown New York City. Standard business hours are Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET. 
 

Key Responsibilities:  

As a Data Analyst Intern, you will be responsible for analyzing large datasets and providing data-driven recommendations to optimize data governance and business outcomes. This internship offers hands-on experience in data analysis, data pipeline development, and utilization of data visualization and AI tools. Key responsibilities include:   

  • Gain proficiency in our Business Intelligence data structures to generate reports for tracking data usage. Establish performance metrics to identify areas for review, cleanup, and optimization 
  • Collaborate with the Fundraising Analytics Team to audit, analyze, and document existing data pipelines and dashboards, ultimately developing a dashboard and pipeline dictionary from your findings 
  • Assist the Fundraising Analytics Team in designing and updating data governance dashboards to ensure effective data management practices 
  • Utilize AI tools within our Business Intelligence platform to set up reminders, flag discrepancies, and create data governance reports 

  • Provide support for other development data governance initiatives as needed 

 

Qualifications and Skills:  

  • Pursuing a  B.S. in related field (e.g., Business Analytics, Information Sciences, Statistics, Data Science, Library Sciences, Mathematics, etc.) 
  • Basic understanding of data governance principles and data pipeline development 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and draw insights from complex datasets 
  • Highly organized and detail oriented 
  • Experience with BI tools such as Domo, Tableau, or Power BI is a strong plus 
  • Experience in SQL, Python, R, Redshift, or any querying/programming language is preferred

Compensation & Benefits
Individual compensation for this role is dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, skillsets, and applicable laws.  In addition to salary, the Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Salary Range
$18$20 USD
