Development Operations Volunteer (Gift Processing & Data)pdated May 2026

Dates: June 1, 2026 – January 31, 2027

Estimated commitment: ~10–15 hours per week (flexible scheduling)

Room to Read is seeking a Development Operations Volunteer to support gift processing and donor data management, starting June 1.

This role sits within the Development Operations team and focuses on maintaining accurate donor records and supporting fundraising operations, especially during the critical year-end period.

What You’ll Do

Gift Processing & Data Accuracy (60%)

  • Support gift processing in Salesforce NPSP, including reviewing and applying correct coding

  • Ensure donor and gift records are accurate, complete, and up to date

  • Identify and flag discrepancies for follow-up

Database Support & Projects (25%)

  • Assist with updates and data-related tasks across Salesforce NPSP and internal systems

  • Support data clean-up and ongoing database maintenance

  • Follow established processes for data entry and record management

Coordination & Administrative Support (15%)

  • Communicate with team members to clarify data or processing questions

  • Support ad hoc administrative tasks as needed

  • Maintain organized documentation and records

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with data entry, administrative work, or record management requiring high accuracy

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Ability to work independently while staying responsive to a remote team

Preferred (not required):

  • Familiarity with Salesforce NPSP or a similar CRM

Timing & Availability

  • Dates: June 1, 2026 – January 31, 2027

  • Estimated commitment: ~10–15 hours per week (flexible scheduling)

  • Peak period (required availability): September through early–mid January

  • Hours can be completed evenings or weekends, but some overlap with PST hours is needed for training and team coordination

  • Reliability and consistent availability during the year-end period are essential
