Who You’ll Work With: AllianceBernstein (AB) is seeking a strategic and experienced leader to serve as Vice President | Director of Community Engagement. This role will lead AB’s global community engagement strategy, overseeing philanthropic and charitable initiatives, volunteering, civic engagement, and nonprofit board participation. A successful candidate will be instrumental in advancing the vision of the Community & Belonging Team by fostering an inclusive culture that empowers employees to achieve their full potential while creating meaningful opportunities for employees to positively impact their communities. This position is based in Nashville, TN—home to AB’s headquarters and a hub for our community and civic engagement efforts. The VP will collaborate closely with regional leaders in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and APAC (Asia-Pacific), as well as internal stakeholders across all various SBUs, including people, marketing, legal, and client-facing teams. This role will require the VP to be nimble and able to adapt quickly to changing sociopolitical environments across AB’s global footprint. Public speaking, facilitating large and dynamic groups, and representing the firm externally should be expected. What You’ll Do: Strategic Leadership & Execution Lead the global Community Engagement strategy, aligning with AB’s philanthropic priorities and employee engagement goals. Manage and track the global budget for Community Engagement, including expense tracking, grant disbursement and overhead costs Oversee AB Gives Back programs, including gift matching, volunteering, and board participation, ensuring alignment with firm values and local community needs. Manage civic engagement initiatives, including voter education, government relations activity, and election participation. Support Operating Committee and Executive Leadership Team member community engagement through grantmaking and enhanced gift matching initiatives. Serve as a thought leader on corporate philanthropy strategy, internally and externally Program Oversight & Impact Drive measurable impact across AB’s global offices, leveraging data to report on outcomes such as volunteer hours, matched donations, and nonprofit grantee partnerships. Administer and evolve policies related to gift matching, grantmaking, and volunteering, including oversight of program platforms and related vendors. Maintain records and produce reporting on programs overseen Conduct appropriate due diligence on potential or current nonprofit partners Create an internal board preparation and matching program Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain relationships with nonprofit organizations, civic institutions, and internal stakeholders. As needed, convene groups of internal and/or external stakeholders to drive decision making and/or to inform key audiences. Serve as a cultural ambassador and advocate for AB’s purpose-driven initiatives internally and externally. Attend community events as a representative of the firm, and, when applicable, invite colleagues to attend as well What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Policy, Social Impact, Business, Communications) or equivalent work-related experience Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the Nashville nonprofit community, including nonprofit governance/management, community engagement, philanthropy, and/oror corporate social responsibility. Proven leadership experience managing people and cross-functional teams. Strong track record of collaboration across departments and with external partners. Familiarity with nonprofit governance, grantmaking, and volunteer management Experience running large budgets, including ongoing expense accounting Ability to manage global programs and people while navigating important cultural nuances. High ethical standards and professional integrity. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint). Ability to quickly adopt new technologies, including AI tools and platforms.
