Director of Strategic Growth

Alan Turing Institute
On-site
GB

The Director of Strategic Growth is a new role for the Institute, commensurate with the development ambitions associated with our transformation to Turing 2.0, including a sharp focus on our grand challenges and missions, the need for diversification of resources and a relentless drive to pull-through impact from our science & innovation. We are therefore looking for a candidate with substantial commercial and/or fundraising experience and expertise, a results-orientated self-starter and a leader, who can help deliver a step change in our ability to raise the right resources to deliver our Institute vision, both in terms of unrestricted funding and restricted funding to deliver our goals as a National Institute.

DUTIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Lead strategy and delivery of revenue growth from across key funders, sponsors and stakeholders, including, but not limited to industry, third sector and government (UK and international).
  • Cultivate and steward high-value relationships with new and existing funders, aligning their interests with the Institute’s vision, goals and missions.
  • Drive the development of new engagement models to maximise strategic revenue growth, to match the scale of our development ambitions needed to accelerate impact from our missions.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team, the Science Executive Team and other Institute leaders to develop compelling propositions to key funders, sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and close deals strategically to deliver maximum value and impact for the Institute, focusing on a small number of priorities at scale, whilst ensuring there is also room for some quick(er) wins.
  • Lead and shape the team responsible for development and ensure that we have the right capabilities to deliver, together with a high-performance and supportive culture.
  • Ensure all strategic revenue growth opportunities align with our values and comply with Institute policies and regulations.
