Compensation: 142,000-162,000 annual salary
The posted range is what PAX plans to reasonably offer to a candidate who meets the minimum requirements for the role. Exceptional candidates may be considered for a range higher than what is posted.
Location:
This position is located at the PAX sapiens Foundation central office in Broomfield, CO. The pax office operates on a hybrid in-office/work-from-home model. Typical schedules are Mon, Wed, Fri from home and Tues, Thurs in office.
Purpose:
The Director, People & Culture, is at the forefront of developing and implementing HR strategies that support PAX sapiens’ ethos and objectives. The Director, People, & Culture will play an integral part in PAX sapiens’ growth and focus on attracting and retaining top talent to create a positive, dynamic, authentic, and high-performance culture. This position supports staff in Broomfield, CO, Washington, D.C., Vienna, Austria, Beijing, China and future affiliate offices. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service to PAX teams, be a thought leader to the VP of Finance and Administration and COO on employee engagement, recruitment, and retention and culture strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the formulation and execution of PAX sapiens People and Culture strategy in collaboration with Executive Team.
- Develop and maintain an action plan to build PAX culture that is characterized by: being Mission and Impact Driven, building Trust, Thoughtful Innovation, Cultivating Belonging, Open & Respectful Communication, Intellectual Humility, Empowerment, Supportive, and Collaborative.
- Oversee the employee experience in alignment with the PAX sapiens People and Culture strategy to include:
- Strategic planning for hiring, job description creation, and org chart growth.
- Implementing and managing the full-cycle recruitment and selection process.
- Establishing and implementing the onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a seamless new hire transition.
- Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities and alignment with office culture.
- Evaluate and make recommendations on the employee experience through annual employee surveys, retention, and exit surveys.
- Manage formal performance evaluation processes and provide coaching and feedback to employees, managers, and executives.
- Partner with the Associate Director of Strategic Learning on strategic alignment with goal planning and performance.
- Manage employee relations procedures including conflict resolution processes, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on culture, HR policies, employment law, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Executive team in establishing and selecting the total rewards compensation for PAX sapiens
- Administering benefits including annual open enrollment process and new hire enrollment for health, 401k, and supplemental insurance for new and current employees.
- Develop and administer human resources policies and procedures for organization.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation, including personnel files, employee handbooks, and HR reports.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in human resources management and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support PAX sapiens HR function and ensure the smooth functioning of all offices.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in human resources management, with demonstrated expertise in all areas of HR and a minimum of 4 years of leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain trusted working relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with employee relations and HR compliance.
- Strong commitment to PAX Mission and Values and culture-building.
- International and Non-profit experience highly preferred.
- Experience with Organizational Culture building highly preferred.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
Physical Work Demands:
- Able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Able to bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
- Able to lift and move up to 25 lbs regularly.
