Disaster Case Management Supervisor

This position provides direct management oversight to up to 10 case managers, ensuring optimal case management services are provided to disaster survivors and their families through advocacy, information and referral, crisis intervention services, and recovery services.  Ensures contract goals and outcomes are met.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the day-to-daymanagement and implementation of disaster case management program including tracking, reports, outreach and staff supervision. 
  • Provides training and supervision to staff; helps to determine the urgency of cases and make recommendations regarding what action should be taken.   
  • Meets individually with each case manager at least weekly and provides technical support and mentoring.  
  • Provides direct services to clients on complex cases and as otherwise needed. 
  • Assures that comprehensive case files, records, charts and other documents are maintained in all case records and web-based disaster case management database and conduct weekly reviews. 
  • Works with the Area Manager to identify disaster survivor trends, gaps in service, training needs and necessary outreach.   
  • Work closely with program staff to provide a continuum of services 
  • Adhere to all program guidelines, policies, protocols and workflows  
  • Update and shares community resources with program staff  
  • Other duties as assigned 


Scope and Travel:
  • Travel within Los Angeles County, including CORE’s headquarters in the City of Los Angeles’ Chinatown District 


Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in social work preferred.  A graduate degree in a related field will be considered with related Case Management experience as well asa bachelor's degree with relevant experience.  Relevant and equivalent professional experience in lieu of university-level credentials will also be considered. 


Experience:
  • Minimum 3years' experience in case management, preferably in the public or non-profit sector 
  • Demonstrated experience working families from diverse age, cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds 
  • Demonstrated experience with data management and coordination 
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and developing partnerships with organizations to meet the needs of clients 
  • Demonstrated experience in health and/or nutrition programs a plus. 
  • Previous disaster experience strongly preferred 
  • Supervisory experience required.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities 
  • Ability to empathize and establish supportive rapport with clients while maintaining professional boundaries 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and referral platforms   
  • Flexible and adaptive to a frequently changing environment  
  • Close attention to detail and a high level of accuracy 
  • Experience working with FEMA Individual Assistance programs highly preferred   
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or another language highly preferred

$77,330 - $77,330 a year
In accordance with CA law, the expected pay range for this CA position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
