Objective of the Programme:
The Strategy Office is seeking an Early Careers Programme participant to support strategic research, stakeholder engagement and project delivery across the Forum’s priorities in Greater China, with a particular focus on the Innovators Communities. Through research, knowledge product development, communications support and community-building activities, the participant will help strengthen regional engagement, support decision-making and contribute to the development and execution of projects aligned with the Forum’s regional and global agendas.

6-month full-time position at the World Economic Forum Beijing Representative Office

Key responsibilities and outcomes:
- Conduct structured desk research and horizon scanning on global and China-specific developments relevant to the Forum’s agenda, including policy, economic, business and innovation landscape.
- Support stakeholder engagement across the priority areas of Beijing Office, with a particular focus on innovators and other key ecosystem stakeholders, by contributing to outreach, agenda development, and follow-up.
- Develop communications and knowledge products to support internal planning and external engagement, including talking points, briefing notes, presentations, meeting summaries, stakeholder profiles, and other strategic documentation.
- Support Innovators Communities building in Greater China by identifying and assessing potential members, maintaining the membership pipeline, mapping engagement opportunities with Forum Centres and initiatives, and assisting with the planning and delivery of community events and outreach activities.
- Provide flexible support to the development and execution of projects aligned with the Forum’s regional and global agendas.
Profile Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, business, international relations, public policy, communications, technology, or a related field. 1–3 years of professional or research experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of, and genuine interest in, the start-up, innovation and technology landscape in Greater China, including key ecosystem stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, investors, corporates and public-sector actors.
- Excellent research, analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to synthesize information, manage multiple workstreams and translate insights into practical engagement actions.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with a proactive, responsible and self-driven mindset and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multistakeholder environment.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese is required.
