Duration and Location

6 months full-time post at the World Economic Forum Beijing Representative Office

Why we are recruiting

Rapid urbanisation is reshaping how people live, work, and access essential services. Cities are increasingly at the centre of economic growth, climate action, technological adoption, and public service delivery—including health and wellbeing. Addressing these interconnected challenges requires integrated, multistakeholder approaches that translate insight into action at scale.

To support this work, we are recruiting additional capacity to strengthen research, programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge development across our initiatives. While the role is anchored in urban transformation, it is designed to remain flexible and adaptable across closely related domains, particularly where urban systems intersect with health, healthcare delivery, and population wellbeing.

This recruitment responds to:

  • Growing programme complexity and ambition, especially in rapidly evolving urban contexts
  • Increased demand for evidence-based insights and localisation, including adaptation to regional and policy environments such as China
  • The need for effective multistakeholder engagement, from agenda-setting through to execution and follow-up
  • Rising convergence across domains, where urban design, infrastructure, technology, and health outcomes are increasingly interdependent

By investing in this role, we aim to ensure our initiatives are supported by the analytical and delivery capacity required to drive impact while retaining the flexibility to contribute to adjacent areas, including health and healthcare, as priorities evolve.

Main responsibilities

Project scoping and contextual research: Conduct structured desk research on global and China-specific developments, market dynamics, and policy trends relevant to the Centre’s priority initiatives. Stakeholder engagement and programme support: Contribute to the design and delivery of Centre-led engagements and events, including agenda development, speaker identification and outreach, and content preparation.

Communications and knowledge support: Support marketing and communications activities by maintaining up-to-date bilingual materials. Provide ad hoc support including translation, drafting of meeting notes and briefings, and preparation of internal and external documentation.
