Purpose of the Role

The Enterprise Systems Administrator will be part of the IT Enterprise Systems team, sharing system configuration, maintenance, and planning duties with the Sr. Manager of Enterprise Systems and the Enterprise Systems Sr. Administrator. This role will primarily involve configuration and maintenance tasks in Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Workday HCM, but could involve supporting a wide variety of related systems, integrations, and data cleanup projects. Most of these tasks will be in response to support tickets and project requirements generated by other departments within the organization.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Salesforce configuration: Perform basic Salesforce configuration tasks, including creating or updating flows, custom objects, formula fields, permission sets, reports & dashboards, etc.

  • Workday user configuration: Perform basic Workday user account configuration, including setting usernames and granting access to proper tasks, reports, and business processes.

  • Data analysis and reporting: Familiarize yourself with the existing configurations of Foundation systems in order to properly maintain and update those systems when called upon to do so, and to provide accurate and responsive reporting output.

  • Data quality control and integrity: Follow system best practices and internal data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across objects & systems. Evaluate and reconcile duplicative or erroneous data. Carefully evaluate mass data import/update requests for accurate information, proper data types, and valid field mappings.

  • Collaboration and innovation: Work collaboratively with users who report bugs or make requests for new features or functionality to develop clear requirements and illuminate potential trade-offs, decision-points, and ramifications, and propose, design, and implement technical solutions.

  • Training and facilitation: Provide ad hoc training on specific tasks or functions utilizing enterprise systems; develop user walkthrough guides and other workflow documentation to assist users in proper utilization of systems.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of configuration changes, ticket discussion, solution proposals, decisions, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned: As needed, take on additional tasks and responsibilities to support the IT team and organizational goals.

Key Deliverables / Outcomes

  • Database Queries & Reports: Take over primary responsibility for common report/export requests.

  • Data Cleanup Tasks: Take over primary responsibility for periodic data audits and cleanup practices, including adhoc de-duplication and data corrections.

  • User Setup: Take over primary responsibility for user management in Salesforce and Workday, setting up new users, assigning proper permissions, and deprovisioning accounts/licenses when appropriate.

  • User Training: Take over primary responsibility for training staff on system usage and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Salesforce administrator or super-user (ready to grow into an administrator)

  • Excellent communication skills–can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high data quality standards

  • Problem-solving ability to diagnose and resolve system issues

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

  • High level of comfort with Excel/Google Sheets

  • Some experience with Workday HCM is preferred but not required

The salary range for this role is between $68,685 and $85,871.

This role is primarily remote, but candidates must be based in the Chicago area for occasional on-site requirements at the Obama Presidential Center.
