TrustedHousesitters is a fast growing, direct-to-consumer marketplace that is redefining pet care and travel.
Here at TrustedHousesitters, we’re on a mission to make travel work better for pets, for their people, and for the global community of animal lovers who look after them. We’ve got big plans on becoming the world’s most-loved travel solution for pet people. We’ve built something pretty special: a trusted place where pet owners and sitters connect to keep pets happy at home while their humans explore the world.
We’ve already grown into a global community with members in over 140 countries, a product people genuinely love, and a team of more than 100 brilliant humans powering it all.
But we’re only just getting started. Our goal? To grow to 1 million members and make TrustedHousesitters the world’s most-loved travel solution for pet people.
At the moment, a sit starts every two minutes somewhere on the planet. We want that to be every single minute and we know the only way we’ll get there is with the right people in the right roles.
The right people in the right roles will shape our future. So, here’s the big question: Could that be you?

Sustainability isn't a side project here. It's woven into how we operate, grow, and make decisions. We're a certified B Corp with a no planet B ethos, and we need someone to carry that torch while our ESG Lead is on maternity leave.
This isn't a role where you'll be writing a strategy from scratch. The roadmap, the Science Based Targets, and the decarbonisation pathway are all set. What we need is a self-sufficient operator who can pick up the reins and drive it all forward. Someone who can keep 200+ B Corp commitments on track, manage our carbon accounting, and be the go-to ESG voice across the business.
Think of it as being the ESG business partner for an entire scale-up. You'll work across every team, from marketing to procurement, translating complex sustainability data into action, storytelling, and board-level reporting. The scope is wide, the appetite for improvement across the business is massive, and the only limitation is resource, never willingness.
Depending on variables, there may be potential for this role to develop into a permanent position for the right person.
\nESG Figurehead: Act as the primary point of contact for all ESG and sustainability matters across the business, regularly reporting progress to the executive and board teams and presenting quarterly updates company-wide.
Carbon Accounting & Reporting: Own THS's CO2e measurement and reporting, collating, analysing, recording, and maintaining our GHG emissions inventory. This is specialist work, closer to accountancy than admin: you'll manage our Greenly platform, reconcile data from Xero and other sources, and continuously develop our reporting.
B Corp Certification: Manage the maintenance of our B Corp ESG certification, ensuring we meet the standards we've committed to across 200+ requirements, from employee development reviews to volunteering programmes to carbon reduction targets.
Decarbonisation Delivery: Drive forward our decarbonisation efforts in alignment with our Net Zero roadmap and Science Based Targets, working cross-functionally to implement solutions, measure outcomes, and foster a culture of responsible business.
Impact Reporting & Storytelling: Project manage the delivery of THS's annual Impact Report, gathering data from metric owners across the business, selecting content, and drafting the report. Integrated within marketing squads, you'll support the brand team with data, insights, and ideas to develop THS's ESG storytelling, amplify impact, and mitigate communication risks.
Flagship Impact Project: Drive forward and deliver THS's flagship impact project.
Operational Integration: Design and deliver process enhancements (through cross-team collaboration) to ensure sustainability considerations are embedded as we scale, including supporting procurement with ESG supplier screening and the corporate volunteering team with strategy-aligned opportunities.
Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of ESG trends, regulations, and best practices to anticipate opportunities and potential impacts on the business.
The B Corp Specialist: You have hands-on experience leading at least one SME through to B Corp certification and managing the ongoing requirements. You know your way around the B Corp online assessment platform, not theoretically, but from doing the work.
The Carbon Accountant: You bring genuine technical experience in carbon accounting, whether through carbon literacy training, or practical experience tracking and measuring emissions in a sustainability consultancy or in-house role and can hit the ground running with emissions data.
The Self-Starter: You're energised (not daunted) by autonomy. You'll have everything you need to follow the strategy, but you won't have someone looking over your shoulder. If processes are evolving, you adapt and build. That's the fun part.
The Cross-Functional Operator: You're experienced at influencing and collaborating with senior stakeholders. You can manage impact metrics across multiple different owners, present confidently to the board, and support a marketing squad in the same week.
The Detail & Data Person: You have strong experience managing ESG KPIs, performance reporting, and Science Based Targets. You're comfortable with data and can translate it into clear, compelling narratives.
The Values-Driven Professional: You have a genuine passion for sustainability. Ideally, your career reflects that. You've worked with purpose-driven organisations, not just bolted ESG onto businesses that weren't truly committed.
Experience using the Greenly platform
Experience with B Corp recertification under evolving standards
We value your time and aim for a transparent, efficient process:
Talent Screen: A conversation with our Talent team to explore your experience and motivations
Hiring Manager Session: A 30-minute call with the hiring manager to go deeper on your technical expertise and fit
Practical Task: A take-home exercise focused on a real-world scenario. We'll give you plenty of time and won't expect you to spend hours on it, but it will test the self-sufficiency this role demands. You'll present to the hiring manager and a senior stakeholder.
