The founders of the GBL are Ach Adhvaryu – Professor of Economics, Director of the 21st Century India Center at the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego, Anant Ahuja – CEO & Co-founder of Good Business Lab and Director – ESG & Sustainability at Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd. (India’s largest Ready Made Garment firm), and Anant Nyshadham – Associate Professor at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, and Chief Strategy Officer & Co-founder of Good Business Lab.


Role: Field Consultant

Location: Delhi

Position Type: Contract-based full-time role

Contract Duration - 3 months (extension on need and performance basis)

Remuneration: INR 40,000 per month


The Field Consultant will oversee on-ground implementation of the RCT, ensuring high-quality, ethical, and timely execution of all field activities. This includes managing enumerator teams, coordinating surveys (baseline to endline), and maintaining robust data quality through real-time monitoring, audits, and feedback loops. The role involves planning field operations, tracking incentives, and maintaining detailed documentation of processes and deviations. The consultant will also support recruitment and training of field staff, and act as the key liaison with partners and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation. Overall, the role requires strong operational management, data quality oversight, and effective coordination in a complex field setting.


What will you do (areas that will play to your strength and all the responsibilities we will trust you with):

  • Project Implementation & Field Management
    a. Plan, coordinate, and oversee all field activities across study sites in Delhi NCR.
    b. Develop detailed field plans, logistics schedules, and daily reporting systems.
    c. Supervise and support enumerators during baseline, midline, and endline surveys.
    d. Coordinate with GBLs’ partners and stakeholders for smooth implementation of the insurance and awareness interventions.
    e. Ensure ethical and high-quality data collection in line with research protocols.
    f. Maintain accurate process documentation, field logs, and monitoring reports.
  • Data Quality & Monitoring
    a. Monitor real-time survey data for consistency and accuracy using platforms such as SurveyCTO or similar tools.
    b. Conduct frequent debriefs and feedback sessions with enumerators.
    c. Support spot checks, back checks, and audits to maintain data integrity.
    d. Track incentive distribution and ensure transparent record-keeping.
  • Team Coordination & Training
    a. Support recruitment and onboarding of field enumerators and supervisors.
    b. Design and deliver enumerator training on survey protocols, consent processes, and ethical data collection.
    c. Provide ongoing supervision, feedback, and performance evaluation for field teams.
  • Stakeholder & Partner Coordination
    a. Liaise with delivery platform representatives, GBLs’ partners, and other local stakeholders.
    b. Schedule and facilitate research partner visits and field reviews.
    c. Troubleshoot operational issues and communicate regularly with the core research team.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    a. Maintain detailed documentation of field processes, deviations, and lessons learned.
    b. Prepare concise updates and field summaries for the research team.
    c. Support preparation of field reports and contribute to project presentations as needed.


Who are you? Ideally, you have (The areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role):

  • Bachelor’s in Economics, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative data collection, though in-depth interviews and SurveyCTO surveys
  • Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer skills like experience in Microsoft Word and MS Excel.
  • Proficiency in using data collection platforms like surveyCTO
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel to project sites and communities as required.
  • Ability to read, write and converse in Hindi and English.
