LinkedIn has an exciting opportunity for a Global Payroll Process Excellence Manager to drive the standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement of global payroll processes. Reporting to the Director of Global Payroll Operations & Global Process Owner (GPO), this role is instrumental in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and scalability of payroll operations worldwide.
The Global Payroll Process Excellence Manager will focus on four key areas: process improvement and standardization, project management, stakeholder collaboration, and technology and compliance. You will play a critical role in advancing LinkedIn’s payroll transformation strategy, ensuring payroll processes align with organizational goals, industry best practices, and global compliance requirements.
Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, strong payroll process expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions such as Finance, HR, Employment Tax, and Technology. Responsibilities:
Process Improvement & Standardization: Analyze payroll processes to identify inefficiencies and risks; design and implement standardized workflows and policies aligned with best practices, compliance requirements, and organizational goals. Support GL interface updates and pay code setup/testing.
Project Management: Lead global payroll transformation and optimization projects, managing cross-functional teams, deliverables, and change management. Maintain project dashboards and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Finance, GTO, TPE, Employment Tax, PE, and external vendors to ensure seamless integration, SLA compliance, and effective communication of milestones, risks, and outcomes.
Technology & Automation: Drive payroll system enhancements and automation opportunities with TPE and vendors. Ensure ADP GV readiness, build custom reports, and evaluate emerging technologies to future-proof payroll operations.
Compliance & Risk Management: Maintain compliance with global tax, legal, and regulatory requirements by establishing controls, conducting audits, mitigating risks, and preparing SOX-related evidence.
Knowledge Sharing & Training: Deliver training on process improvements, tools, and systems while fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and operational excellence across payroll teams.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant experience
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
Knowledge of payroll systems, compliance requirements, and tax regulations in multiple countries.
Proven experience in managing transformation projects and driving process improvements.
Proven experience in working with a payroll software (e.g., Workday, ADP, SAP) and automation tools (e.g., RPA).
Good analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Management, or Project Management (e.g., PMP).
Experience in a global, matrixed organization with cross-functional collaboration.
Experience in data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and insights.
