Overview
FMI’s Strategy Practice is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated Consultant to join our growing team. We partner with leading A/E/C firms on strategic planning, business development, and go-to-market strategy—delivering industry-leading research and actionable insights that drive measurable growth.
In this GTM-focused role, you will help translate market insights and growth priorities into practical business development and marketing actions that improve pipeline quality and win rates. You will work closely with FMI team members and client stakeholders to build and activate go-to-market strategies, while contributing to the continued growth of FMI’s Strategy Practice.
This is a full-time role based in our Denver office with 30–60% travel.

Responsibilities
Research and Strategy
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels of client organizations, including executives, BD leaders, and marketing teams
- Conduct primary and secondary research to uncover market trends, client needs, and growth opportunities
- Develop clear, client-ready deliverables (presentations, reports, tools, and meeting materials)
- Manage workstreams across multiple engagements, ensuring timelines, coordination, and follow-through
- Deliver exceptional client service through responsiveness, ownership, and strong communication

Contribute to FMI thought leadership through research and content development
Go-to-Market and Growth Activation
- Evaluate BD and marketing materials for clarity, effectiveness, and alignment to strategy
- Support development of BD enablement tools (call plans, discovery questions, proposal storylines, interview prep guides)
- Help craft differentiated messaging and value propositions aligned to target markets and buyer needs
- Collaborate with marketing teams on campaign planning (content strategy, events, digital nurture, account-based efforts)
- Define and track growth KPIs (pipeline health, win rate, client expansion, proposal throughput, campaign performance)
- Support CRM utilization and pipeline discipline, including reporting and forecasting visibility
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to drive adoption of GTM tools, processes, and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; A/E/C-related degree a plus
- MBA or advanced degree preferred, or equivalent experience in A/E/C go-to-market strategy
- Familiarity with A/E/C business development and marketing (RFQs/RFPs, interviews, capture planning, campaigns)
- Strong analytical and project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, including presenting to both executive and front-line audiences
- Experience developing and using BD tools (account plans, pursuit strategies, campaign calendars, enablement content)

CRM and pipeline management experience (e.g., Salesforce, Unanet, MS Dynamics, HubSpot) with a data-driven mindset
