IsraAID ensures effective humanitarian access and program implementation in complex operational environments. This position will support our efforts in addressing bureaucratic and logistical challenges while facilitating coordination and communication with key stakeholders.
The Health Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of Health and Medical focused programs, in collaboration with IsraAID’s partners. The Health Officer will work closely with IsraAID’s HQ’s Technical Unit and the Health Sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the design, development and implementation of Health and Medical focused programs and Projects within the Regional Response, including:
- Support teams in conceptualizing, designing and developing programs through the Program Document (PD) format.
- Monitor and pace program approvals and implementation, in communications with partner and, together with the Programs Manager and HQ’s Health Sector.
- Produce reports as required.
- Track health-related reports and published updates, and supporting the development of an evolving situational overview of the evolving health conditions.
- Support the Logistics Team with Medical- related procurement – ensure selected and procured supplies meet international humanitarian and medical standards, help identify alternative solutions when needed.
- Support content and tools development, focused on the Regional Response, if required by HQ’s Health Sector.
- Actively contribute to IsraAID's reputation and role as a national, international, and regional organization.
- Promote IsraAID's organizational identity, culture, and capacity to all stakeholders and partners and ensure IsraAID remains relevant to the country's changing humanitarian and development needs.
- Support any other mission related tasks.
REQUIRMENTS
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in humanitarian, public health, or NGO program settings
- Prior experience working in health-related contexts, with familiarity in health systems, medical terminology, and inventory processes
- Proven ability to conduct research, analyze data, and translate findings into programmatic recommendations and written reports
- Understanding of multiple layers of health services, including Primary Health Care (PHC), secondary, and tertiary levels of care
- Strong understanding of the humanitarian sector, its principles, and operational environments
- Experience in coordinating with stakeholders, partners, or governmental entities is an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with project management tools is a plus
